Niel Snyman

After finishing my Military Service in South Africa I joined Telkom. I spend 14 years in the commercial field. I left Telkom in 2005 and after being involved in transport I was offered a position on-board the Dalia FPSO in Cape Town harbour and later offshore Angola, where my interest in safety basically started. After doing a couple of HSE courses, including Nebosh IGC I worked on several shutdowns and construction projects in South Africa. Since 2010 I worked in several international locations, including Nigeria, Madagascar, Guinea and Saudi Arabia. 

I have extensive international HSE experience within the Construction and Petrochemical Industries, of which the last almost 10 years was in a Managerial capacity. I work well in a fast-paced environment whether it be independently or as part of a team. I pride myself on my exceptional communication skills. I am a conscientious and pragmatic team player with a demonstrated ability to contribute effectively within the workforce, providing sound and practical solutions to ensure that all systems and safe work procedures are successfully implemented in compliance with legislation and international safe working practices, to maintain a safe work environment. I am able to work autonomously and confidently, with an in-depth range of industry experience and knowledge and a proven track record of delivering high profile assignments safely. 

I am now looking for a new challenge to bring my discipline, individual drive, commitment, and a first-class can-do attitude to delivering all work scopes safely and on time with a company that values passion, positivity, integrity and hard work. 

I believe that my passion for safety and my drive to ensure safe working practices and procedures are followed will be an assist to any company that values its people.

I am currently busy with the final stages of the Nebosh International Diploma.

I have successfully completed the Safety officers course in South Africa through Action Training Academy as well as Nebosh IGC, and several other short courses including HIRA, Incident /Accident Investigation, Root Cause Incident Investigation, etc.
