As an Electrical Engineer in the construction sector, I am responsible for managing and executing all electrical engineering activities on-site, ensuring safe, efficient, and code-compliant implementation of systems in line with project requirements and timelines. My role integrates site supervision, technical execution, coordination, and stakeholder communication to support successful project delivery.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems, including cable trays, conduits, cable pulling, glanding and termination, lighting, power distribution, grounding and lightning protection, and low current systems such as fire alarm, BMS, and data networks.
• Review and interpret IFC drawings, technical specifications, and BOQs to ensure proper execution of electrical works in alignment with design intent and local regulations.
• Prepare and update shop drawings, load schedules, and single-line diagrams, coordinating with design teams for timely submission and approval.
• Coordinate daily site activities with civil, mechanical, and architectural teams to avoid clashes and ensure smooth integration of electrical systems within the broader construction scope.
• Prepare material take-offs, monitor inventory, and ensure timely procurement and delivery of electrical materials, confirming compliance with approved submittals.
• Conduct site inspections, monitor contractor performance, and ensure all installations follow applicable standards such as IEC, NEC, NFPA, and local authority requirements.
• Participate in testing and commissioning activities, including insulation resistance testing, continuity checks, earth resistance testing, and functionality verification of electrical panels and control systems.
• Support site progress tracking, generate daily and weekly reports, and contribute to project planning and execution schedules.
• Coordinate with consultants, clients, and subcontractors for site clarifications, approvals, and technical resolutions.
• Implement health and safety protocols in all electrical works, especially during energized or high-risk activities.
• Support handover documentation, including as-built drawings, operation and maintenance manuals, and test certificates, ensuring compliance with contract close-out procedures.
