    GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

    The Assistant Manager, Development, GBCI MENA, will ensure continued regional growth, development and inspiration of the Market and stakeholders, facilitate meaningful and effective market engagement, develop and deliver best-in-class partnership opportunities toward meaningful market transformation and engage with other key stakeholders like Government. This position supports growth in market opportunities, while maintaining relationships with existing partners, members, event sponsors, volunteers, and allied organizations.

    Specific Responsibilities Include:

    • Draft and implement workplan aligned with strategic market/product, sector, and regional growth plans as approved by regional leadership
    • Regular market engagement with Sustainability Consultants, Key client accounts and other stakeholders such as architects, project management consultants, contractors, etc.
    • On-going market engagement, with a vision to engage with new-to-LEED clients.
    • Deliver engagement activities with local and regional staff and volunteers that aligns with USGBC's business/strategic plan. Ensure consistent high quality of market engagement culture.
    • Identify current market trends to develop robust programs and business models that establish USGBC as a leading voice and innovator in our market, while attracting new members and supporters to the organization's work
    • Partnering with Stakeholder organizations that represents Developers, Facility Heads, HVAC consultants, Architects & Interior Designers
    • Support the organizational and individual membership program in the region. Serve as account owner for a portion of key organizational members in key markets.
    • Achieve non-financial performance goals and oversight of programs for membership, partnership, project registration, and other engagement metrics
    • Other responsibilities as assigned

    Requirements

    Travel and Event Requirements

    • Travel and in-person event support across the MENA region is required to fulfil the duties of this position. Please note that current GBCI policy requires full COVID vaccination to travel and participate in in-person events

    Education & Training Requirements/Preferences

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (B.E. / B.Tech / B. Arch) required, Master's degree in Business/ Management highly advantageous.
    • LEED Green Associate Credential is preferred.

    Experience Requirements

    • 2-3 years of business experience, from real estate or sustainability background with a proven track record of project delivery.
    • Preferred familiarity with the LEED rating system, green building practices or general sustainability knowledge and interest
    • Experience managing projects, staff, and volunteers

    Other Required Skills And Qualifications

    • Driver's License of the country of job opening is mandatory
    • Willingness to travel within the MENA region and occasionally outside the region
    • Arabic speaker, with strong written and verbal communication skills in English
    • Team player with a positive attitude who is open to constructive feedback is a pre-requisite for this role.
    • Natural relationship builder with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and disciplines, including both corporate and community partners
    • A persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills
    • Ability to be creative and visionary, yet also be a pragmatic, hands-on business manager who can build the organization's resources and brand to achieve those larger ambitions
    • Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and innovative approach to business planning

    • Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule

    Location & Benefits:

    • The position will be based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia with travel across the region.
