    Job Title: Education Consultant, KSA and Gulf

    Location: Riyadh, KSA

    Contract: Permanent

    The Educational Consultant, KSA and Gulf, working from the Riyadh office, will be responsible for achieving sales growth and driving brand awareness of the Macmillan Education blended learning portfolio throughout the region. Driven, commercially aware, with strong consultative sales skills and a desire to deliver excellent customer service, the Educational Consultant will build and maintain strong relationships with local representatives, key distributors, schools, Ministries of Education and other educational organisations across Saudi Arabia and the Gulf.

    Key Tasks:

  • Work with Key Account Manager and Trainer, KSA & Gulf to implement strategies to achieve sales targets and strong growth throughout the region
  • Full sales responsibility for selected territories, as agreed with the Key Account Manager
  • Extensive travel to priority territories to promote and sell print and digital resources from Macmillan Education blended learning portfolios
  • Conduct school and Ministry of Education visits into priority territories
  • Align visiting strategies with planned product promotions and developments in the digital portfolio
  • Ensure MENA CRM (NEXUS) system is updated on weekly basis to enable data validation and ensure KSA and Gulf strategies are planned
  • In association with sales and marketing colleagues in the MENA region ensure that a contact database of teachers, Ministry of Education officers, country booklists and regional educational developments is updated and maintained
  • Support key accounts with digital implementation
  • Build, develop and maintain strong relationships with local representatives, key distributors, schools, Ministries of Education and other Educational Organisations throughout the region
  • Conduct local market research to highlight potential educational partnership opportunities
  • Analyse sales data to identify market trends, new opportunities in existing markets and additional revenue streams
  • Complete concise trip reports to share with the MENA team
  • Provide timely customer service for all contacts in the territory and follow up on all potential leads
  • In association with sales and marketing colleagues ensure that all sampling, publicity and online training support requirements for the territory are met
  • Use sales data and market knowledge to assist in the forecasting process for Business Plan and re-forecasting throughout the year
  • Abide by all company rules and regulations relating to and not limited to statutory obligations, ethics and code of conduct
  • Undertake any additional task reasonably assigned by the line manager

  • Qualifications:

  • Education Degree level or equivalent
  • Skills / knowledge:

  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Drive and determination to generate sales growth
  • Strong consultative sales skills
  • Commercially astute
  • Proactive, self- motivated and highly organised
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Strong numeracy skills
  • Market research skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills and an understanding of why this is important
  • Ability to work well in a small team but to also function independently
  • Good level of competence using Microsoft Office (including MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Driving licence
  • Experience:

  • Experience in a consultative sales role with demonstrable examples of sales achievements, preferably within the education sector
  • Knowledge and experience of the publishing industry and digital content delivery preferable
  • Good knowledge of Macmillan Education products (desirable)
