    Position description

    We are seeking for Operation Engineer Specialist to join the Terminal Engineering Division of Civil Engineering Group

    The Terminal Engineering Division is responsible for providing Engineering expertise in support of day to day field operations in areas encompassing instrumentation/control system, electrical, process rotating equipment and material/corrosion analysis. The engineering system field specialist has wide-ranging and specific knowledge of plant operation and process. Serves as technical advisor management and junior operations engineering staff.

    The Operation Engineer Specialist primary role is to support operating and maintenance departments throughout Oil Operations. Provides troubleshooting capability to minimize problems limiting production. Develops and implements strategies and programs to enhance plant availability and to reduce operating and maintenance costs; this include the application of new technology. Leads engineering teams on special projects. Ensures that technical requirements specific to operating plants are implemented on new capital projects. Coordinates and executes long range studies, capital projects. Coordinates and executes long range studies, capital projects planning and scope definition. Participates in technical committees related in his area of expertise.

    Responsibilities

    You will be required to perform the following:
    • Provides high level engineering expertise in the resolution of plant operational problems. May provide work direction to lower classified engineers.
    • Formulate and implement long-term strategies to improve operations and reduce costs. Defines the long-term technical direction of his assigned operating area.
    • Serve as an advisor to management on technical questions and issues.
    • Responsible for the definition and execution BI-1900 projects as assigned. Works with Facilities Planning department personnel to develop and define major capital budget items.
    • Provide technical direction in specialized areas to outside design contractors on major capital projects. Provides technical guidance for the development of capital projects.
    • Lead groups of engineers in the commissioning/start-up phase of complex projects and the mothballing/de-mothballing of existing plants.
    • Ensure that all designs comply with standards, are cost competitive, viable, and meet operational safety requirements. Review waiver requests for non-compliance design and construction issues and provide technical advice for satisfactory resolution.
    • Develop/provide technical direction, and act as mentor to junior engineers.
    • Participate in standards reviews to assure inclusion of requirements that are of practical benefit to field operation and maintenance in regard to safety and efficiency of the plants. Provides guidance on standards development through technical committee participation. Interprets standards and recommends changes to reduce costs associated with overly stringent requirements.

    Minimum requirements

    As the successful candidate you will hold a Master degree in Engineering from a recognized and approved program.

    Fifteen (15) years relevant operation engineering experience in depth knowledge of company and international specifications, codes, and standard, with a knowledge of engineering practices and economic principles, calculation.
