Lead the creation of long-term master plans that guide the development of communities, campuses or sites. Manage multi-disciplinary teams to conduct comprehensive planning and design.
Master's degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, Landscape Architecture or related field
10+ years of progressive experience leading the creation of master plans
Proven record of producing innovative, implementable and client-approved master plans
Lead teams to analyze existing conditions, conduct community engagement and study best practices
Develop concepts and alternatives to optimize land use, functionality, connectivity and sustainability
Incorporate input from planners, architects, engineers, landscape architects and stakeholders
Determine phasing, implementation strategies and growth projections over the master plan horizon
Create diagrams, illustrations and narratives to clearly explain master plan recommendations
Present master plans to clients, stakeholders and approval bodies
Monitor project budgets and schedules
Define scope of work and fee proposals for master planning projects
Hire, mentor and evaluate master planning team members
Establish processes and guidelines to ensure quality and consistency in deliverables
Identify business opportunities for additional planning and design services
Stay abreast of trends, technologies and best practices in master planning
