- Assess and report contractor compliance with safety and environmental requirements.
- Conduct pre-construction safety meetings to explain project safety expectations.
- Monitor Key Performance Indicators for improving safety.
- Develop and deliver safety training.
- Offer guidance to maintain a safe working environment in compliance with regulations.
- Identify and address workplace hazards through surveys and inspections.
- Provide advice on corporate safety procedures.
- Inspect construction sites and facilities for safety compliance.
- Prepare safety reports, recommend hazard controls, and assess their effectiveness.
- Create safety materials and conduct specialized training.
- Assist in new employee safety orientation.
- Participate in safety committee meetings.
- Analyze injury and damage data to recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure safety requirements in procurement and contracts.
- Recommend safety equipment and supplies.
- Stay updated on corporate safety and environmental standards.
- Monitor employee and contractor compliance with safety programs.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, safety engineering, industrial hygiene, or a related field from an accredited program (advanced degree preferred).
- 12 years of heavy construction safety experience, ideally in oil/gas, petrochemical, or construction project management.
- Demonstrated expertise in hands-on health, safety, and environmental training.
- Proficiency in developing, implementing, and coordinating comprehensive health and safety programs.
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) for training, presentations, and report writing.
- Ability to collaborate in teams and committees.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards, concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Capability to work effectively at all organizational levels and within diverse workgroups.
