    About our client:

    Our Client operates in the Oil and Energy industry, with its headquarters rooted strongly in Saudi Arabia.     Responsibilities:

    • The candidate will be required to work closely with internal teams as well as research organizations and manufacturers to identify technical gaps/challenges that hinder a vast penetration of carbon fiber reinforced plastic in the targeted applications and accordingly establish and derive collaborative projects.
    • This will include, but not limited to, conducting technical feasibility studies, designing R&D strategies, launching research projects, leading lab technician(s) and junior scientists and engaging with external partners to advance the technology readiness level of the targeted development.
    • As a CFRP specialist, the candidate will be also responsible for project planning, execution, implementation and data analysis as well as liaising with stakeholders to ensure seamless integration with the ongoing effort associated with the Non-metallic initiatives in the company.
    • Moreover, the candidate is expected to train young scientists/engineers, while keeping abreast with the engineering and scientific developments of conventional/advanced manufacturing processes of composites.

    Requirements:

    • The candidate needs to hold a PhD in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering or Polymer processing.
    • The candidate should have ten years of R&D experience in composite development including at least five years in the field of CFRP processing.

    As a successful candidate, the below requirements should be met:

    • Ability to set corporate R&D strategies, develop technology roadmaps, connecting innovation ecosystem players and establish new business partnerships.
    • Have the ability to identify competencies gaps and build/manage/lead R&D teams.
    • Have experience in complex projects management including milestones tracking, project finance & contracts development, technology licensing and commercialization.
    • Demonstrate effective leadership skills to influence and build relationships with customers
    • Able to establish new research programs to overcome the existing challenges of composites processing, (e.g. scrap rate, time cycle, and repair of common and arising manufacturing processes).
    • Able to work closely with partners to integrate the developed technologies in real-world applications in collaboration with OEMs
    • Must have the ability to publish papers in highly recognized journals, present research outcomes in international events and grant patents based on novel research results
