Job Purpose

The warehouse Maintenance Technician is responsible for equipment safety and best efficiency standards and immediate reporting to the maintenance supervisor in case of breakdown. He is also responsible for recording information about maintenance activity performed on equipment.

Key Accountabilities

Operational

Warehouse Operations:

· Adhere strictly to the procedure and policy formulated for maintenance activities.

· Assist the service provider during maintenance activity.

· Coordinate with storekeeper and warehouse operatives while training warehouse operatives to ensure the appropriate use of equipment.

· Ability to work in a team environment and perform various duties.

· Ability to read wiring diagrams and diagnose electrical systems would be an asset.

· Conduct equipment inspection as per SOP.

· Create and complete detailed work orders for services and or repairs performed.

· Testing systems for freon leaks, repairing and replacing components requiring soldering and welding.

· Update the equipment maintenance file after maintenance activity.

· Obtain requisite validation signatures to verify equipment maintenance activity.

Warehouse Safety and Crisis Management:

· Conduct regular inspection of assigned equipment and highlight any deviation in described parameters to initiate preventive or corrective maintenance.

· Attend the service providers visits for equipment inspections.

· Highlight the need for part replacement or accessory requirement in equipment to the maintenance supervisor.

· Cross-check the equipment performance after maintenance and ensure compliance with standards before being put into operational use.

· On-call service in case of emergency.

· Ensure work is completed to standard.

· Inform the maintenance supervisor immediately about unprecedented equipment breakdown.

· Perform tasks as assigned by the maintenance supervisor during emergencies.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Qualifications:

· 1-2 years degree diploma in refrigeration and air conditioning.

· Vocational course in refrigeration and air conditioning.

Minimum Experience:

· 1-3 years experience in technical maintenance of HVAC and reirrigation equipment and warehouse operation equipment.

· Prior experience in warehouse operations and HVAC equipment.

Behavioral:

· Excellent time management skills.

· Strong communication skills (written and verbal) in both English and Arabic.

Technical:

· Knowledge of equipment mechanics, repair, electrical, and restoration of cold rooms cooling units and HVAC.

· Knowledge of refrigeration and HVAC systems.

· Electrical and plumbing.
