    Position Overview: The Environmental Quality Management Consultant is responsible for monitoring, assessing, implementing, and improving environmental quality across diverse sectors and industries. The role requires a comprehensive skill set and a strong combination of expertise in regulatory compliance, environmental impact assessment, environmental management systems, data analysis, risk assessment, auditing, monitoring, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Regulatory Compliance:

    · Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of local, national, and international environmental regulations and compliance requirements.

    · Apply knowledge to interpret and ensure organizational activities meet legal standards.

    2. Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA):

    · Showcase proficiency in conducting EIAs, encompassing screening, scoping, baseline data collection, impact prediction, and mitigation measures.

    · Apply knowledge of various EIA methodologies to assess potential environmental consequences of projects or activities.

    3. Environmental Management Systems (EMS):

    · Possess advanced knowledge of EMS standards, such as ISO , and demonstrate the ability to develop, implement, audit, and maintain effective environmental management systems within organizations.

    4. Data Analysis and Interpretation:

    · Utilize strong analytical skills to collect, analyse, and interpret environmental data.

    · Apply statistical and data visualization tools to assess trends and make data-driven decisions.

    5. Risk Assessment:

    · Conduct environmental risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential environmental risks associated with specific activities or projects.

    6. Assessment and Measurement through Multiple Indicators:

    · Assess and measure environmental quality through various indicators and criteria, including cultural and recreational values, human health and safety, noise pollution, visual aesthetics, natural resource sustainability, ecosystem health, biodiversity, soil quality, water quality, and air quality.

    7. Auditing and Inspection:

    · Conduct environmental audits and inspections to assess compliance with environmental regulations and EQM standards.

    · Identify non-compliance issues and recommend corrective actions.

    8. Environmental Monitoring and Sampling:

    · Demonstrate proficiency in setting up and managing environmental monitoring programs.

    9. Environmental Reporting:

    · Exhibit strong report-writing skills to prepare clear and concise environmental reports for internal and external stakeholders.

    10. Climate Change and Sustainability Reporting:

    · Possess knowledge of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reporting and sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, CDP).

    11. Problem Solving and Decision Making:

    · Apply strong problem-solving skills to address environmental challenges and make informed decisions.

    · Evaluate different solutions and choose the most environmentally responsible options.

    12. Stakeholder Engagement:

    · Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with various stakeholders, including government agencies, community groups, and industry partners.

    · Facilitate public consultations and environmental education initiatives.

    13. Capacity Building:

    • Develop and deliver training programs for government officials and staff on climate change, environmental issues, and the implementation of related policies.

    14.Budgeting and Resource Allocation:

    • Work closely with relevant government departments to allocate resources efficiently for climate change and environmental projects.
    • Assist in the preparation and management of project budgets.

    15.Administrative Expertise:

    • Utilize previous administrative experience to streamline the implementation of climate change policies within the existing government framework.

    Identify administrative challenges and propose solutions to enhance efficiency.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Quality Management Systems or a related field.
    • Minimum of 10 similar project's relevant experience in Environmental Quality Management consulting.
    • Proven track record in developing and implementing Environmental Quality Management
    • Demonstrated experience in governmental administrative positions, preferably in environmental or sustainability-related departments.
    • Strong knowledge of KSA's governmental structures and administrative processes.

    Evaluation Criteria:

    Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview.

    Candidates will be evaluated based on their demonstrated expertise in environmental science, EMS implementation, related qualifications outlined in the ToR, and:

    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
    • Project management skills, including the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • Performance in the interview process, including the ability to articulate and discuss past experiences, challenges faced, and strategies employed in the field of Environmental Quality Management.

    The evaluation process will prioritize candidates who not only meet the minimum qualifications but also demonstrate a passion for environmentalsustainability and a commitment to making a positive impact through their work.
