Job summary
Working with shipping companies to ensure that shipments arrive on time and in good condition Coordinating the flow of materials and products through distribution centers or warehouses Maintaining accurate inventory records in order to identify overstocks or shortages Reviewing orders to make sure they have been filled correctly and that all necessary information is included Planning routes and schedules for transport vehicles in order to meet delivery deadlines Coordinating with suppliers or vendors to arrange deliveries of materials or products to clients Developing new methods for storing or transporting goods that can help reduce costs or increase efficiency Reviewing shipping costs to determine the most cost effective method of transporting goods Supporting other departments within a company by providing them with logistical support during events such as trade shows Follow all relevant functional policies processes standard operating procedures and instructions to ensure that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely functional MIS statements reports.
