    A Data Quality Officer is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and consistency of an organization's data assets. This role involves implementing and maintaining data quality standards, processes, and controls to identify, address, and prevent data issues.

    The Data Quality Officer collaborates with various teams to establish data quality improvement initiatives, monitor data quality metrics, and enhance overall data integrity.


    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement data quality standards, policies, and procedures across the organization.
    • Collaborate with data owners, data stewards, and data users to define and enforce data quality requirements.
    • Identify data quality issues, anomalies, and inconsistencies through regular data profiling and analysis.
    • Implement data cleansing and transformation processes to rectify data quality problems.
    • Monitor data quality metrics and establish proactive measures to prevent data issues from arising.
    • Establish data quality controls and validation rules to ensure accurate data entry and maintenance.
    • Work with IT and data engineering teams to design and implement automated data quality checks.
    • Document data quality processes, guidelines, and best practices for data handling.
    • Provide training and support to employees on data quality practices and principles.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to continuously improve data quality practices and standards.

    Desired Candidate Profile




    Profile:

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Management, or related field (master's preferred).
    • Strong understanding of data quality concepts, methodologies, and best practices.
    • Experience with data profiling tools and data quality software.
    • Proficiency in data analysis and manipulation using SQL or similar tools.
    • Familiarity with data governance frameworks and data quality frameworks.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Detail-oriented with a focus on data accuracy and consistency.
    • Effective communication skills to work with diverse teams and convey data quality principles.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage data quality improvement projects.
    • Knowledge of data privacy regulations and compliance is a plus.
