You as a Lead Engineer HVDC will be part of Hitachi Energy business based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) is a product group in Hitachi Energy, which develops, manufactures, and sells DC transmission systems on a global market.

This technology is used to transmit electricity over long distances and for power transmission via submarine cables and it also used to connect power systems.

Your role as a Lead Engineer who will focus on HVDC projects and tenders.

The activities associated with this role include but are not limited to engineering and designing, planning, risk assessments, and coordinating of resources and you will be getting the opportunity to take the technical lead on projects and tenders and coordinate global project teams.

You will also interact with other stakeholders such as customers, officials, contractors, and supply chain and working independently while collaborating with others and great responsibility of managing all your projects and processes.

Your responsibilities

• Primary contact for communication of technical matters with the customer.
• Ensuring that engineering is developed with complete information and that all multidisciplinary information has been included.
• Leading development of new solutions for complex projects and challenges.
• Driving completion of all engineering activities on the project.
• Coordinating resources and engineering discipline across several projects.
• Providing technical support for testing, installation, and commissioning activities.
• Prepare project documents in your area of responsibility and deliver within budget, scope, and contract.
• Ensuring adherence to safety standards and mitigation of potential risks and technical quality in contracts, other documents, and delivery.

Your background

• A bachelor s or master s degree in relevant field or Electrical engineering is required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in similar or other technical lead roles is required.
• As a person, you should be communicative, collaborative, and not afraid to take on difficult conversations.
• Ability to take a leading role and deliver quality results under stress and time pressure.
• Proficiency in both spoken & written English and Arabic language is required.
