    The Yanbu Industrial City Program continues to be the 'jewel in the Parsons' Crown' given that we have been the Program Manager overseeing the city's development for over 45 years to date and we continue to collaborate with the Saudi Royal Commission in the expansion of the overall city and the strengthening of its economic capability as well as its population growth. The Program has never operated at the pace and aggression that it does today and to meet the demands of the Program, we are creating endless career opportunities for both new and existing staff. We are looking to hire a Crisis & Disaster Management Supervisor who will coordinating resilience, business continuity, run risk management work programs and provide strategic consultation to the Royal Commission in Yanbu on crisis and disaster management, civil defense, security and related matters.

    Yanbu is located on Saudi Arabia's Red Sea Coast and hosts major light and heavy industries. Managed by the Royal Commission in Yanbu, the city provides a high-quality livable community featuring diverse residential units, schools, hospitals, recreational facilities and other amenities for people living and working in the city. The government has made efforts to ensure a high quality of life for residents and their families, and to promote a sustainable environment.

    Given the state of the world today there has never been a more heightened awareness of the impact that natural disasters, pandemics, climactic changes, and terrorist / security activity can have. This role will focus on the management of these types of risks with a view to ensuring that international best practice Risk Management frameworks are defined and implemented for Yanbu Industrial City and that mitigation, prevention, and response measures are in place.

    Specific activities performed in the role will include:

  • Reports directly to the Director of Crisis & Disaster Management. Interfaces frequently with senior management personnel, both Saudi Arabian Parsons Limited (SAPL) and Royal Commission on resilience matters. Supervises all department staff and support functions.
  • Maintains strategic coordination of the CDMD work program including guiding the program's implementation and monitoring its delivery.
  • Seeks to continually improve the services delivered by CDM through the implementation of lessons learnt, the advancement of best practice approaches, and improvements to work practices and systems (including IT systems).
  • Engage with Saudi Arabian Parsons Limited (SAPL) and the Divisions and Departments of the Royal Commission in Yanbu to gain engagement with the CDMD work program and seek to build resilience measures into the Royal Commission's projects and initiatives.
  • ​Any applicants must possess the following qualifications / experience / credentials.

  • Must possess a graduate degree from a recognised Western Country university.
  • Minimum of 15 years relevant work experience in developed and developing countries.
  • Proven leadership skills to develop and manage a multiphase program of work and to provide strategic consultation to the Royal Commission in Yanbu.
  • Should hold a qualification or certification from a recognized industry body relevant to the work of the Crisis and Disaster Management Department, and experience in implementing associate best practice methodologies.
  • Preference for professional experience with any of the following: risk management, emergency management, crisis management, business continuity management, or employment with police, fire, security or intelligence agencies.
  • Excellent spoken and written English language skills with the ability to communicate at a high-level. Arabic would be an advantage.
  • Time management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
