Eram Talent, a leading recruitment consultancy in the oil and energy industry, is seeking a Meteorologist to join their team. The meteorologist will provide high level consultations to support Company forecasting and provide technical insights on meteorological related aspects. The candidate shall study the weather and climate, using data from the land, sea and atmosphere. Also, ability to use models to make short and long-range weather forecasts and study climate patterns and conditions. Lead new technologies or research initiatives in the field of meteorology and early weather warning. Moreover, the candidate shall support meteorological and air quality data analysis activities and conduct specialty studies in this field.

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze weather data to forecast temperature, precipitation, wind patterns, and other meteorological conditions.
• Collaborate and communicate with different groups within the energy sector to provide critical weather information to help with decision-making processes.
• Develop and implement advanced models and the necessary statistical techniques to forecast weather trends and improve current forecasting methods.
• Conduct research and write reports detailing meteorological patterns and trends for use by researchers in the energy sector.
• Collaborate with engineers and other professionals to determine how weather impacts different energy systems.
• Participate in strategic planning sessions to ensure meteorological data is used to enhance the quality of energy systems.
• Attend conferences and other industry events to stay up-to-date on emerging trends in meteorology and the energy sector.

Requirements

• BSc degree in Meteorology (Masters/PhD will be an advantage)
• Minimum 5 years of experience
• Participation in International or National committees related to meteorology and relevant publications.
• Knowledge and expertise of:
  • Standard meteorological equipment and its application to meteorological studies
  • Fundamental physical and mathematical sciences underlining the science of meteorology
  • Forecasting principles and techniques of climatological studies
  • Data analysis on environmental data sets and studies
• Excellent English communication skills to produce technically-sound reports and presentations.
• Proven experience in meteorology and related modeling programs, and support reporting requirements related to meteorology and climatological change assessment for Corporate Sustainability reports.
