Gentis Solutions is seeking an IO Engineer tojoin our team. This contract position is with one of our clientsinterested in full-time consultants. The ideal candidates will havethe required skills listed below and will be eligible and open tobeing hired by our client at the end of the project's duration. Requirements

• Expertknowledge of VMWare Cloud Foundation products, including vSphere,vSAN, vCenter, SRM, NSX, and vRealize
• VMWareCertified Professional: Data Center Virtualization (VCPDCV)
• Expert knowledge of the MS Windows ServerOperating System
• Expert knowledge of WindowsSever-based infrastructure services such as Hyper-V, ActiveDirectory, DNS, DHCP, DFS, File Services, and PrintServices
• Experience in Logical Data Centerdesign and implementation
• Extensive experiencein creating holistic engineering solutions comprising multipleelements
  including
  • On-premise privatecloud and multiple public cloudenvironments
  • Integrations between segregatednetwork zones such as OT, iDMZ/DMZ,IT
  • Incorporating cloud and middlewarecapabilities
• Experiencein creating technology roadmaps based on strategyinputs
• Ability to carry out requirementsanalysis and create detailed engineering solution designs usingVisio
• Experience in providing engineeringexpertise to Operations teams in support of incident and requestresolution
• Experience in engineering solutionscomprising containerized and serverlessenvironments.
• Ability to create low-levelimplementation and builddocumentation
• Experience in implementation ofinfrastructure automation, including provisioning andadministration activities, using technologies such as Terraform,Packer, Ansible or Ignio
• A thoroughunderstanding of system and virtualization security principles andtechnologies

TypicalDuties

• Createinnovative infrastructure engineering solutions and designs withindefined standards and architectures, ensuring that designs workholistically within largersolutions
• Collaborate with Architects todevelop roadmaps from strategy documents and carry out regularroadmap reviews
• Design roadmap implementationprojects, communicating with stakeholders and operations teams toensure delivery
• Maintain a good awareness ofOperations activities through regular communication with operationsleads and by attending update meetings
• Createbuild instructions for engineering designs, and support operationsteams during implementation
• Undertakerequirements analysis of incoming requests ensuring deliverablesare clearly understood and agreed withstakeholders
• Proactively seek out opportunitiesfor continuous improvement of systems and processes and proposeimprovement activities
• Actively developautomation engineering solutions, identifying where automationshould be used, and working with operations teams to implementsolutions
• Incorporate security-by-design intoall solutions, ensuring that security requirements are consideredconcurrently with technical requirements
• Workclosely with Tech Ops tower leads as an escalation point, providingSME support to operations teams, assisting with P1/P2 incidentresolution
• Liaise with 3rd party vendors whenappropriate to create engineering solutions and continuousimprovement proposals
• Collaborate withArchitects to propose, review and implement new standards andtechnologies
• Carry out continuous personaldevelopment, ensuring technical skills are kept up to date andnon-technical skills are gained andimproved
• Develop a base cross-functionaltechnical knowledge allowing holistic thinking during designprocesses
• Carry out technical reviews of changerequests and designs created by otherteams
• Work with Operations teams to analyzeRCAs and design actionplans
