Events Manager

As Events Manager you will be responsible forthe successful event planning and overall execution of allConference & Events that take place within the hotel. TheEvents Manager will interact frequently with customers and Gueststo learn about their needs and develop relationships from which toearn repeat and expanded business.

What will I be doing

Specifically you would be responsible for performing thefollowing tasks to the highest standards:

• Maximise all Meeting & Events Sales revenueopportunities through up selling of function items
• Ensure the highest standards of Event Management are inplace including building relationships with new/existing customersin order to secure rollover business
• Managethe departments daytoday operations and activities whereasimplementation of the selling strategy yields meetings and eventsspace
• Ensure the Meeting & Events TeamMembers are developed effectively and generate a culture of highquality standards for relationship building customer serviceselling techniques and billing and processing contracts
• Build strong relationships with customers Guests and TeamMembers in order to gain full understanding of their needs and workto serve them effectively
• Accurateadministration and control of all Meetings and Events relatedreservations and blocks
• Ensure that allFunction Sheets are handed over the Food and Beverage OperationsTeam every week for the following 7 10 days outline and that allthe information is accurate confirmed and billing detailsdocumented and in line with the credit policy
• To meet & greet nominated conference contact ororganizer to check on their satisfaction and the set up of themeeting rooms on the day of the event
• Toconduct Show rounds for companies & agents in line with theCompany policy
• To support the Food &Beverage operations and room reservations team with information asrequired
• Ensure all information is relayed tothe Chef and Operations Team in a timely manner to ensure they canorder and roster effectively
• Attend Salesevents as required
• To support in otherproperties within the Cluster as required according to the businessneeds

Additional SalesInvolvement:

• Review business plansidentify gaps and ensure proactive efforts to fill capacity andmeet set targets
• Contribute to the sellingstrategy of the hotel and manage the departments adherence toachieving that strategy
• To raise invoices forEvents in line with quotations and forward them to the accountsdepartments on a daily basis with relevant back up documentation toexpedite payment
• Understand the competitivemarket place and implement approaches to ensure the hotel staysahead in the local market
