JOB SUMMARY:

Al Borg Diagnostics, a leading provider of diagnostic health services, is seeking skilled and dedicated Phlebotomists to join our team. As a Phlebotomist, you will play a crucial role in collecting blood and other specimens from patients for laboratory testing and analysis.

Your main responsibilities will include obtaining blood samples, explaining procedures to patients, verifying patient information, preparing samples for testing, and maintaining a clean and organized work area.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collect blood and other specimens from patients following proper phlebotomy procedures
• Explain procedures to patients and ensure their comfort and cooperation
• Verify patient information and accurately label specimens
• Prepare samples for testing and maintain proper storage and transportation conditions
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper disposal of biohazardous materials
• Follow all safety protocols and infection control measures
• Adhere to established customer service and quality standards
• Assist with maintaining inventory and ordering supplies as needed
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in phlebotomy
• Assist with training new phlebotomists and mentoring less experienced staff
  
  

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent phlebotomy skills, with the ability to perform venipuncture and collect specimens in a safe and efficient manner
• Knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory procedures
• Ability to follow instructions and protocols accurately
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide compassionate care to patients
• Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to accurately label and track specimens
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks and priorities
• Flexibility to work different shifts and weekends as needed
