    Position Description

    Berth and unberth tankers and other vessels for which they are qualified, at the ports at which they are licensed, at Saudi Aramco operated Terminals, in the Arabian gulf or the Red Sea

    - Coordinate loading and discharging aboard tankers at offshore berths

    - Remain aboard the ships at offshore berths to coordinate and monitor the loading operation

    - Conducts pre-loading safety inspection of ships manifold and mooring equipment

    - Instructs ships Master on proposed mooring and loading operation

    - Gives direct commands to ships master regarding steering orders, engine speed and use of anchors

    - Directs tugs and/or mooring launches assigned to berthing/unberthing operation

    - Directs jetty personnel or mooring launches in the order and sequences of deploying or retrieving mooring lines

    - Coordinates with ships officers during cargo handling operations with regard to starting, stopping or changing cargo flow rates

    - Responsible for conducting periodic safety inspection during the course of loading (at a minimum interval of every 6 hours) corrects and

    reports deficiencies discovered during such safety inspections

    - Ensures safety inspections records are maintained within TSIS

    - Reviews and re-measures ship's cargo tanks to re-calculate cargo figures to reconcile ship-shore differences

    Directs deep loaded vessels to a safe anchorage as required Directs deep loaded vessels to departure channel upon ships Master request

    - Maintains cargo log of vessels operations

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    • Maintains radio communications with vessels in the operating area; advises vessels of ballast condition require, berthing and unberthing time and other information to expedite ship movement and help with optimum scheduling.
    • Gives direct commands regarding steering orders, engine speed and use of anchors; directs tugs and/or mooring launches via radio assigned to berthing/ unberthing operation.
    • Directs Pier personnel or mooring launches in the order and sequence of putting out and taking mooring lines.
    • Reviews ship's cargo figures to reconcile ship-shore difference.
    • Directs deep loaded vessels to a safe anchorage and lines up same for the departure channel upon ship's Master request.
    • Maintains permanent official log of vessels handled; compiles records of marine activities for use in vessel turnaround time reports. Develops and maintains record of selected characteristics of all vessels handled.
    Minimum Requirements
    • Master's License for any gross tonnage and any ocean.
    • Eight years seagoing experience with direct piloting experience.
    • Strong knowledge of marine navigation and safety regulations.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
