The Director, Construction for Canal Works and Bridges is responsible for overseeing all construction projects to ensure they are completed on time, within budget and meet quality standards.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field
10+ years of experience directly managing complex construction projects
Proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget and meeting specifications
Develop project plans, schedules and budgets for assigned construction projects
Negotiate and manage contracts with general contractors, subcontractors and suppliers
Provide guidance and approve design specifications and blueprints
Ensure compliance with all building codes, permit requirements and other regulations
Hire, manage and evaluate performance of project managers and supervisors
Monitor project progress, identify issues and implement corrective actions
Inspect project sites to assess work quality, safety and compliance
Approve payments and change orders according to contract terms
Identify opportunities to reduce project costs and improve efficiency
Manage relationships with owners, architects, engineers and other stakeholders
Report regularly to senior management on project status, issues and risks
Close out projects, conducting post-mortems to capture lessons learned
