The post holder will be anexperienced Avionic Technician and Supervisor responsible to theForward Deputy Maintenance Manager (FDMM).

The post holderrequires an excellent understanding of the approved data set and iscompetent to supervise personnel carrying out maintenanceinstructions in accordance with the organisation s regulatoryframework.

Deputising for theFDMM during periods of absence, assuming their responsibilities asrequired.

Deputisingfor the Rectification Controllers during periods of absence,assuming their responsibilities asrequired.

Responsiblefor:

The effectiveday-to-day management of Forward Maintenance Avionic trade specificmanpower and equipment resources, in accordance with policy andpriorities laid down by the Maintenance Manager to providesufficient safe and serviceable aircraft to meet the flyingtasks.

Advising theFDMM of any engineering or supply problems likely to jeopardiseflight safety or significantly affect the published flyingprogramme.

Advisingthe FDMM of any practice, procedure or system which threatens thesafety or quality of the Forward Maintenance logisticseffort.

Thepost holder will be responsible for:

Ensuringthat all personnel under their management are suitably trained andauthorised for their primary duties and maintain and record theirrequired levels of currency.

Ensuring Avionic andElectrical (Av&E) trade personnel are trained and able tocarry out full and comprehensive handovers of technical issues andmanagement information to the oncoming shift using the respectiveTrade Diary.

Ensuring that Av&E tradepersonnel complete all mandated training (HF, CoC,etc).

Ensuring new Av&E trade arrivalscomplete the necessary requirements, training and authorisations toenable them to carry out their primary duties in a timelymanner

Training of and maintaining appropriateAv&E maintenance incident team cover during flyingoperations.

Managing the Forward MaintenanceAv&E manpower shift lists to meet the flying programme andensure all required personnel administration is carried out andsubmitted within the appropriate timeframe (e.g. leave planneretc.).

Monitoring the submission of Av&ETPRFs to develop and maintain accurate approveddata.

Monitoring the standard of Av&Efacilities and ensure any defects are reported to the Support andTraining Management.

Monitoring standards ofAv&E personnel across forwardmaintenance.

Monitoring Av&E usage ofapproved data for accuracy.

Ensuring theAv&E Trade Desks are able to effectively liaise withMaintenance Operations, Sqn Operations and Fleet Planning forappropriate allocation of aircraft to the flying programme andintegrate fully the forward maintenance and operationalactivities.

Ensuring Oversight Checks are carriedout of all forward Av&E maintenance operating areas on ascheduled basis and are reported into theFDMM.

Completion of weekly Av&E tradestandards and practices quality checks (physical andESS).

In addition the post holderwill:

Act as the Avionic trade specific point ofcontact for all internal and external agencies andorganisations.

Undertake any duties/tasking orinstructions as directed by the FDMM.

Inconjunction with the FDMM undertake strategic Av&E reviews,challenge current practices to identify potential areas forimprovement and assist in the forward planning of forwardmaintenance to develop efficiency and continuousimprovement.

In conjunction with the ForwardMaintenance Managers ensure the compilation and timely release ofAv&E Flt Safety and Ground Incident Reports and allrequired Follow Up reports.

Co-ordinate withforward maintenance Training and Support Management allAv&E QA audit reports within the agreedtimescales.

KeyAccountabilities

Performance indicators Ensure theeffective management of regulatory activities by setting deliverytargets, monitoring progress and developing performance improvementprograms. Safety ManagementSystem Promote the application of Human Factors,Error Management, Risk Management and Safety Assurance within thePart 145 Av&E team(s), together with the proactiveanalysis, mitigation and management of hazards

Completion of activities Ensure allPart 145 Av&E activities are appropriately documented andairworthiness records are maintained on relevant systems (IT /paper based). Ensure suitably qualified, experienced and authorisedpersonnel perform all Part 145 Av&E activities. Ensure theintegration of Part 145 activity within the business, including theengagement of key stakeholders at all stages of the process.Provide support and guidance to the Av&Eteam

Management SystemAssurance Ensure Av&E maintenance activitiesare compliant with the QAF governance and assurance framework,including supporting process confirmations and independentassurance audits. Support the response to audit findings in atimely and appropriate manner and provide information to supportthe relevant reviews. Support the implementation of identifiedimprovements to overcome any non-compliance and monitoreffectiveness

Statutory/Regulatory& Legislative requirements Able todemonstrate an appropriate level of understanding and applicationof the relevant continuing airworthiness regulatory framework.Support the implementation of any regulatory driven changes intothe maintenance activities. Ensure compliance with all otherrequirements, e.g. ITAR, EaPW,ISO

Requirements

The post holder will be required to hold thefollowing essential authorisations:

o AssetManager

o Co-ordinate Aircraft andMWO

o Download and UploadPMDS

o Resolve arisings fromPMDS

o Independent Inspections (specify extentand undertake)

o Tow Typhoon

oAssessor for General and Trade specific authorisations as required.

Completion of an Engineering Apprenticeship,ideally in Aeronautical Engineering or Military equivalentapprenticeship / qualifications. Academic qualification for thisrole is a minimum of City & Guilds 2675 or 2661 inAeronautical Engineering and Maintenance or equivalent. Aircraftplatform training (On a/c requirement)

Requiresa minimum of 2 years working at Supervisor level prior toundertaking this role
