Main Objectives

• To maintain the overall effectiveness of equipment and the plants on site which includes Electrical and Mechanical support.

Key Responsibilities

• To anticipate possible machine reliability problems, which could appear and take appropriate actions.
• To facilitate and lead problem solving processes for continuous improvement.

Qualification Requirements

• 5-7 years' experience in relevant trade.
• 5 years' experience in a FMCG environment
• Experience with High-Speed Continuous Operations
• Experience on Flour Milling equipment will be an advantage

Experience Requirements

• Expert knowledge in relevant field
• Understanding of relevant Regulatory and Legislative Requirements e.g. OSH Act/GMP/Food Safety
• Knowledge of Pneumatics
• Maintenance system skills
• Fault Finding and Root Cause Analysis

Key Outputs

• To anticipate possible machine reliability problems, which could appear and take appropriate actions.
• To facilitate and lead problem solving processes for continuous improvement.
• To record and analyse breakdown trends per machine using a maintenance system to motivate equipment improvement or purchases.
• To render support on ad hoc projects to optimize process flow.
• To ensure compliance with relevant Food Safety, Health Safety and GMP Requirements through the maintenance of process and document controls according to SOP's.
• To provide on job coaching for Handyman and Apprentices/Students.
• To train and coach Technical Operators regarding SOP's and work instructions to ensure best operating practices.
