Asthe Safety Officer you will play a vital role in ensuring thesafety and wellbeing of employees customers and visitors.

Responsibilities include monitoring and improving safetyprotocols conducting safety inspections implementing safetytraining programs and maintaining compliance with relevantregulations. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicatedindividual to contribute to the overall safety culture and make apositive impact.

Responsibilities

• Developand maintain safety policies and procedures in compliance withapplicable regulations and industry best practices.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identifypotential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Implement safety training programs to educate employeeson safe work practices and emergency procedures.
• Investigate accidents and near misses identify rootcauses and develop strategies to prevent recurrence.
• Manage and maintain safety records incident reports anddocumentation.
• Collaborate withcrossfunctional teams to develop and implement safety initiativesand promote a culture of safety.
• Stay uptodatewith safety regulations industry trends and emerging bestpractices.
• Monitoring the procurement use anddisposal of chemicals used in the lab.
• Ensuring that appropriate selfinspections aremaintained.
• Providing input to PIs/Supervisorson developing precautions and adequate facilities.
• Knowing the current legal requirements concerningregulated substances.
• Seeking ways to improvethe chemical hygiene program
• Follow up withthe MOH for continuous surveillance updates.
• Conduct regular drills with the civil defence.

In addition the safetyofficer is part of the labs quality team and is responsible forimproving the labs safety culture using education training andcoaching as well as completing routine tasks that help ensuresafety and compliance

Requirements

• Bachelorsdegree in Occupational Health and Safety Environmental Science or arelated field.
• Professional certification inSafety such as CSP CIH or NEBOSH is preferred.
• 25 years of experience in safety management preferably ina healthcare or laboratory setting.
• Knowledgeof local and international safety regulations and standards such as(CBAHI) and International standards(JCI&CAP).
• Excellent communication and interpersonalskills.
• Strong problemsolving and analyticalabilities.
• Ability to work independently andas part of a team.
• Proficiency in MicrosoftOffice Suite.
• Attention to detail and strongorganizational skills.
