Education and Licensing:
Possess abachelor's degree in dentistry (DDS or DMD).
Must belicensed to practice dentistry in the country in which they work,and sometimes specialty certifications or local licenses may berequired.
Experience:
Practical experience ortraining in the field of dentistry. Some positions may preferexperience in certain areas such as oral and maxillofacial surgeryor prosthodontics.
Medical Knowledge:
A deepunderstanding of diagnosis and treatment in the field of dentistry,with extensive knowledge of therapeutic procedures such as dentalfillings, periodontal therapy, prosthodontics,etc.
Personal skills:
good communication skillswith patients, accuracy and attention to detail in clinical work,the ability to work within a medical team and deal with variousdifferent medical conditions and cases.
