    In an unprecedented moment of expansion, the Chief of Staff support the CEO, and the Leadership Team, enabling their most effective work for the greatest impact in this next phase of impact growth. The CoS will serve as an integral member of the broader leadership team helping to preserve and forward the agencys strong culture and ensure the full team operates according to the agencys vision, values and strategic plan.
    We are seeking an individual with exceptional communication skills and emotional intelligence. Additionally, our CoS will be a critical thinker, an effective project manager, and a skilled diplomat who understands graceful change management.

    Responsibilities

    • Preparing and facilitating critical path meetings. These include face-to-face meetings and calls with the Board of Directors, senior leadership team, and other internal and external stakeholders. The CoS will advise prioritising the CEOs time, crafting agendas to use that time well, and preparing the CEO to ensure productive outcomes.
    • Ensuring effective internal cascade of communication. The CoS will construct effective systems to cascade pertinent information to all levels of and across departments in the agency, including the Board of Directors. This may include drafting reports, memos and presentations as well as the planning and facilitation of meetings including monthly all-hands Ranger Roundup meetings and Board meetings.
    • Fostering coordination and collaboration across departments. The CoS will partner with Directors to optimize cross-departmental performance in alignment with the agencys strategic plan and annual goals. The CoS will drive the annual and quarterly planning processes, working closely with the CEO, Leadership Team and Directors to establish clear objectives, key results (OKRs), and actionable plans and monitor progress and proactively identify areas for improvement and course correction.
    • Supporting organizational development and culture. The CoS will continually solicit feedback from Woodcraft staff to identify gaps in people, processes, and technology, make recommendations to solutions to such gaps and support the initiation of those solutions including but not limited to market research, assessing options and drafting appropriate job descriptions or scopes of work. Additionally, the CoS will be responsible for the design and execution of cross-departmental employee engagement events and activities to ensure cohesion.
    • Drafting communications on behalf of the CEO. The CoS must be a skilled and efficient writer who can emulate the Directors voice for a large volume of communications, including remarks at special events, meeting talking points, and materials for various speaking engagements involving internal and external audiences. The CoS may also represent the CEO at external events.

    Qualifications and Education Requirements

    • Mashaters in Business Administration or related field required; additional job-related experience may be substituted in lieu of the degree.
    • 5 years in office management, business strategy or executive communications required. Experience as a Chief of Staff and/or managing a Board preferred.
    • Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with high-level decision-makers is required.
    • Must illustrate a high level of integrity, discretion, and good judgement.
    • Must be a strategic-thinker and possess an entrepreneurial mindset
    • Superior public speaking and persuasive presentation skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent administrative and organizational skills
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite required and presentation tools including PowerPoint or Canva and Board management software a plus
