We are looking for anenthusiastic colleague who will help us in laying a solidfoundation based on respect and welcoming of individualdifferences. This will make our community grow and fully embraceequality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI).

As anEDI expert, you will take the initiatives to foster inclusivitywithin VIB to make VIB a fair and equitable working environment forall employees.

Your responsibilitiesinclude

• Developing a comprehensivediversity and inclusion strategy for VIB, including institutionalpolicies, and ensuring the implementation
• Streamlining the recruitment processes withthe principles of fair, transparent, and open hiring practices
• Collecting and analysing statistical dataabout the diversity of the workforce to monitor the diversitygoals; deploying strategies and actions based on the collectedstatistics
• Providing advice, guidance, andsupport on EDI issues
• Developing and managingreporting systems for incidents
• Establishingclose collaboration with the HR representatives of the nine VIBresearch centers, as well as other key stakeholders
• Engage in institutional strategic initiativesand committees such as group leader committee, postdoc committee,focus groups on well-being, training and proactively looking forways to increase synergy in topics that cross the differentgroups
• Keep up to date with current thinkingand best practices on EDI issues through networking with otherpractitioners and studying relevantlegislation
• Maintain institutional EDI intranetand internet pages
• Preparing and deliveringtraining activities together with the VIB Trainingteam.

These responsibilities aim tobuild a research community that puts D&I at the heart of theemployee experience at VIB and will foster conditions for equityand diversity.

Your profile

• You possess at least a master sdegree.
• You have a proven track record ofdeveloping and implementing equal opportunity and diversityprograms.
• You can convey messages in a directand clear way, both written and verbally, in English.
• You have demonstrated the ability to plan andsuccessfully lead multi-stakeholder projects.
• You demonstrated the ability to establisheffective working relations with colleagues and a wide range ofstakeholders in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary environment.
• You possess cultural sensitivity.
