We are currently seekinga skilled Crane Operator & Lifting/Rigging Supervisor tooversee lifting and rigging operations within our shipbuildingorganization. The selected candidate will be responsible foroperating cranes safely and efficiently as well as supervisinglifting and rigging activities to ensure compliance with industrystandards and safetyregulations.

Responsibilities

• Safelyoperate various types of cranes to lift and move heavy materialsequipment and components during shipbuilding processes. Followproper procedures and safety protocols to prevent accidents andensure the smooth flow of operations.
• Superviselifting and rigging activities performed by the team ensuringadherence to established procedures standards and safetyregulations. Provide guidance and support to crane operators andriggers to optimize efficiency and minimizerisks.
• Act as a mentor to crane operators andriggers providing training guidance and support to facilitate theirprofessional development. Document training sessions and progressto ensure competency and compliance with jobrequirements.
• Conduct regular inspections ofcranes lifting equipment and rigging gear to ensure they are inproper working condition. Coordinate maintenance and repairs asneeded to prevent equipment failures anddowntime.
• Ensure compliance with safetyregulations company policies and industry standards related tocrane operation lifting and rigging. Conduct safety briefingstoolbox talks and risk assessments to promote a culture of safetyamong team members.
• Maintain accurate recordsof lifting and rigging activities including lift plans inspectionreports and incident logs. Prepare reports on equipment performanceproductivity and safety metrics for managementreview.
• Coordinate with other departments suchas engineering production and logistics to plan and execute liftingoperations according to project requirements and schedules.Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure smoothcoordination and timely completion oftasks.

Qualifications

• Bachelorsdegree in Naval Architecture Marine Engineering or a related fieldpreferred with additional certifications or training in shipyardservices management being advantageous.
• Provenexperience as a crane operator and lifting/rigging supervisor in ashipbuilding or heavy construction environment. Demonstratedability to lead a team prioritize tasks and manage liftingoperations effectively.
• Proficient Englishcommunication skills with a minimum IELTS band score of 7 orequivalent essential for mentoring trainees and documenting theirprogress.
• Documented history of being acertified assessor or eligibility to become one demonstrating theability to assess and certify service processes andpersonnel.
• Proven track record of working atprominent shipbuilding organizations with significant experience inshipyard services management roles. Bring along best practices andbehaviors to enhance operations.
• Demonstratedexperience working on projects adhering to top classificationsociety standards/requirements such as IACS ABS BV DNV LR RINAetc.
• Strong leadership abilities with thecapacity to lead and motivate teams toward achieving common servicegoals. Ability to mentor and develop juniorstaff.
