    JobOverview

    We are seeking aproficient Procurement and Contracts Lead to oversee allprocurement activities and contract management within ourshipbuilding organization. The ideal candidate will possess strongnegotiation skills a deep understanding of procurement processesand extensive experience in contractmanagement.

    Responsibilities

    • Leadthe procurement process from sourcing to contract award ensuringtimely acquisition of materials equipment and services required forshipbuilding projects. Develop and implement procurement strategiesto optimize costs and quality.
    • Manage allaspects of contract administration including drafting reviewing andnegotiating contracts with suppliers subcontractors and serviceproviders. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirementsand mitigate contractual risks.
    • Establish andmaintain relationships with vendors suppliers and subcontractors toensure timely delivery of goods and services. Monitor vendorperformance and address any issues or concerns that may ariseduring the procurement process.
    • Act as a mentorto trainees in the procurement and contracts department providingguidance support and technical expertise to facilitate their growthand development. Document trainee progress and provide feedback toaid in their professional advancement.
    • Utilizeyour certification as an assessor or readiness to obtain one toassess and certify procurement processes and personnel as perorganizational and regulatoryrequirements.
    • Leverage your experience workingat prominent shipbuilding organizations to introduce and implementbest practices in procurement and contract management. Shareknowledge and insights to enhance efficiency transparency andcompliance.
    • Ensure compliance with topclassification society standards and requirements such as IACS ABSBV DNV LR RINA etc. throughout the procurement and contractingprocess. Maintain accurate documentation to demonstratecompliance.
    • Collaborate with crossfunctionalteams including engineering finance legal and project management toalign procurement and contracting activities with projectobjectives and timelines.
    • Manage procurementbudgets effectively tracking expenditures identifying costsavingopportunities and providing regular reports to management onprocurementperformance.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelorsdegree in Business Administration Supply Chain Management or arelated field preferred with additional certifications or trainingin procurement and contract management beingadvantageous.
    • Proficient English communicationskills with a minimum IELTS band score of 7 or equivalent essentialfor mentoring trainees and documenting theirprogress.
    • Documented history of being acertified assessor or eligibility to become one demonstrating theability to assess and certify procurement processes andpersonnel.
    • Proven track record of working atprominent shipbuilding organizations with significant experience inprocurement and contract management roles. Bring along bestpractices and behaviors to enhanceoperations.
    • Demonstrated experienceworking on projects adhering to top classification societystandards/requirements such as IACS ABS BV DNV LR RINAetc.
