    Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organisation:

    The Manager Accounting is responsible for supervising the daily duties of all direct reports to ensure that they function in line with Group, IFRS and Tax reporting standards. The Manager Accounting is also responsible for performing timely quarterly, monthly and year end closing of the financial system along with validating the tax submissions.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Ensure that the quarterly, monthly and year end closing is performed correctly and as per the Group deadlines and IFRS/Tax requirements.
    • Develop and implement process improvements within the Accounting Team but also support other departments in driving process improvements in all accounting related processes.
    • Reviewing, controlling, and authorising of all retail reconciliations, monthly intercompany recons and all balance sheet reconciliations that fall under accounting team responsibilities.
    • IFRS 16 valuations and reconciliation for leases.
    • Accounting master data control.
    • Assisting in the preparation of the yearly budget and quarterly RFC.
    • In charge of all actions for performance of direct reports as required in #myBest.
    • Responsible for the preparation of the monthly reconciliation pack.
    • Management of the yearly prelim and final audit.
    • Ensure that all Corporation Tax Computations, VAT Returns, Other Taxes, Tax Reporting and Transfer Pricing are performed timely and accurately.
    • Develop and implement various accounting procedures.
    • To highlight control deficiencies to Senior Management and implement solutions to close control gaps.
    • Handle both internal and external auditors during financial and operational audits.

    Key Relationships:

    • Global: Ad hoc dealing with Group accounting and adidas subsidiaries.
    • Regional: Communication with regional adidas subsidiaries on intercompany transactions.
    • Local: Dealing with all departments within adidas, external auditors and numerous other external parties.

    Controlling:

      • Measure progress on own KPIs.
      • Monitor all allocated reports.
      • Ensures adherence to group accounting policies and procedures.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

    IT skills

    • Outlook: intermediate
    • Word: intermediate
    • Excel: advanced
    • PowerPoint: basic
    • SAP: basic/intermediate experience is preferred.

    Language skills

    English (written and verbal)

    Arabic (written and verbal)

    Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

    • University degree in business/finance with corporate finance or accounting focus preferably CPA, ACCA or CA.
    • Ideally studying towards a professional accounting qualification
