    Job Description:
    is seeking an Associate Legal Director reporting to the Legal and Compliance Director, Middle East who is responsible for legal and compliance in the Middle East region. The role has high exposure at Saudi Affiliate level, with potential exposure to the Middle East and ICR level for the right candidate. This is an operational role with accountability for delivering expert legal and compliance advice and counselling to 's Saudi affiliates (existing and under formation) and providing legal and compliance support in the remaining Middle East countries, including legal contract and ad-hoc advice for all Middle East countries, on a broad array of strategic and tactical projects (including corporate advice) which will require a responsive, sound, hands-on mentality and approach. The ideal candidate will have prior experience counselling prescription pharmaceutical companies in KSA.

    Job Duties:
    - Attend and actively contribute to discussions and decisions at the Saudi LT Team meetings, providing sound, and highly responsive, legal and business partner support.
    - Ensure robust governance of the 3 legal entities in KSA, and extensive support of oncology business in that country (including cell therapy business), with a high number of local events/projects, and providing legal and compliance support in the ME (including KSA), including legal contract and ad-hoc advice for all ME countries.
    - Lead and manage the Legal and Compliance function in the Saudi Arabia affiliates and be an advisor to the business in other Middle East countries.
    - Be a "wise counsel" bringing good judgement and common sense and offering practical legal solutions to challenges may face in KSA.
    - Be a legal and compliance advisor to 's Saudi affiliates, as well as provide support to 's Middle East countries, providing oversight and being accountable for day-to-day activities of KSA Affiliates and business in ME (including its interactions with healthcare professionals (HCPs., commissioners, patient groups and other stakeholders) with 's policies and with applicable laws, regulations and codes, meeting transparency obligations regarding payments made to HCPs and healthcare organisations (HCOs)), FCPA compliance and operation of internal processes and appropriate monitoring activities to pro-actively identify and address any potential Healthcare Compliance risks.
    - Support all KSA Affiliates' Business Units, Market Access team, Commercial Operations and functional departments (Medical, Regulatory, Finance, Government and Public Affairs and HR) on all legal and compliance matters, with an analytical approach, strong attention to detail, excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills.
    - Represent the company as a credible leader in meetings with key Government Departments of Health authorities' stakeholders in Saudi when required.
    - Oversee and support management of distributors in KSA and other ME countries, including drafting and negotiating contracts with distributors and other key third parties, and working closely with other cross-functional colleagues as well as with expert functions to ensure that all aspects of the distribution relationship are addressed.
    - Bring a strong command of corporate and investment laws, healthcare regulatory laws, public procurement law, along with a solid understanding of the Saudi 2030 Vision Strategic Framework, competition law, data privacy law and commercial contracts law (although further support will be available through specialist in-house counsel and external law firms with a well-developed understanding of and its business).
    - Scrutinise and provide advice concerning pricing and reimbursement decision making processes, commissioning policies and clinical guideline development.
    - Manage relationships with external law firms.
    - Draft, review, provide advice on and negotiate various commercial agreements including service agreements, distribution/supply agreements, consulting agreements, and licenses and collaboration agreements, tender agreements.

    - Fully admitted to practice law in the respective country or jurisdiction.
    - 8+ years professional experience in biotech, pharmaceuticals or other highly regulated industries or law firms advising in relevant areas of practice together with significant experience in an inhouse setting and particular emphasis on Saudi legal and compliance matters and other ME countries.
    - Exceptionally strong communicator verbally and in writing, in both Arabic and in English.
    - Ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy and very competently lead in a high performing business environment.
    - Strong business partnering attitude; the maturity and awareness to strike a balance between facilitating, enabling and challenging the business.
    - Capable of acting as a project team leader on multi-disciplinary projects.
    - Must be able to partner with other departments to achieve company goals that cross multiple functions.
    - Proven experience in representing the Legal and Compliance function on country-wide or region-wide strategic initiatives including KSA, and highly complex cross-geography business transactions.
    - Lead or serve as a strategic member of key legally- oriented projects with high visibility to senior management across KSA Affiliate.
    - Experience in providing recommendations on complex strategic issues based on independent risk assessment and judgement with the ability to influence decisions and country leadership to achieve strategic goals.
