Job Description

• Train andsupervise the work of kitchen personnel in the respectivesections
• Ensure personal cleanliness and properdeportment of all team members
• Produce highquality food in a specified area of the food preparation and ensurethat this is also practiced amongst all teammembers
• Check the taste temperature and visualappeal of food items prepared to ensure that the quality andportion are consistent and as per specifications setout
• Ensure that all equipment and perishableitems are stored in its designated place and is done in the mosthygienic manner
• Prevent the use of contaminatedproducts in any phase of food preparation and prevent colleagueswho are ill or suffering from an infection from taking part in thepreparation or handling of food
• Ensure thatcolleagues follow the hygiene and sanitation procedures whenhandling food equipment and utensils
• Workclosely with Executive Steward in maintaining the cleanliness ofthekitchen

Qualifications

• Provenexperience in a pastry bakery or relevantrole
• Solid understanding of pastry and bakingtools and equipment
• Solid pastry and cakedecorating skills will be considered an asset
• Acertificate in culinary arts pastrymaking baking or a relevantfield will be considered an asset
• Basic verbaland written communication skills inEnglish
• Considerable skill in simplemathematical calculations
• A detailedorientedmindset aiming for consistent results
• Be ableto interact with colleagues in a positive and professional mannerin order to make them feel valued and maximize staff morale andguest service experience
• Able to carry outvarious tasks simultaneously and effectively in a limited amount oftime
