    ENGIE's Business in KSA, has activities in large scale power generation and water desalination, renewables, energy efficiency, engineering consulting, Facility Management and HVAC and Ventilation. Leveraging on its strong positions, ENGIE in KSA will also grow in gas storage, LNG, and Green H2.

    Reporting line

    The Legal Counsel will report to ENGIE CEO of KSA and Legal Vice President - AMEA

    Objective

  • Legal support to activities within KSA;
  • Liaison and follow up on all government related activities and projects as well as pursue such projects of interest;
  • Legal support to ENGIE directors in KSA;
  • Legal support to company secretariat (including group re-organizations);
  • Monitor and interpretation of the local regulation relevant to the Engie businesses in the Kingdom;
  • Ensure compliance with the Engie Ethics Code of Conduct and policies.
  • Job responsibility

  • Provide advice in particular in relation to; (1) KSA regulations, (2) Permitting and licensing in relation to the ENGIE projects under development, construction, and operation, (3) legal related issues in conjunction with the ENGIE projects in the Kingdom;
  • Monitor and manage (together with external counsel and where applicable the Group Litigation Department) dispute proceedings and litigations;
  • Assist AMEA Legal Assets & Operations team as and when required;
  • Assist, as the case may be, in the drafting, negotiation and renegotiation of MoU, NdA, partnership agreements, service contracts, and project agreements (EPC, O&M, LTSA, PPA, etc....);
  • Monitor trends in dispute resolution and arbitration in KSA.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of internal processes and procedures in KSA and ensure ENGIE interests are safeguarded;
  • Contribute to the implementation and use of the document management system and contracts digitalization;
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures issued by Engie, monitor and report on non-compliance with policies or procedures, pending or threatened violations of law or ethical values of the Group;
  • Encourage a culture of compliance with laws, ethics and integrity in the Group; and
  • Control the use, quality and cost of external legal counsels.

    Qualifications


    • Law Degree from a reputable university.

    Experience


    • 5+ years of legal practice


    • Large law firm experience preferred, large corporate practice also valued


    • Experience of PPPs, IPPS, IWPPs, knowledge and understanding of PPAs, EPC and O&M Contracts, financing documents, energy services and energy efficiency contracts, is preferred.

    Language


    • Arabic Mother Tongue


    • Fluent in English
