    Role Title: Business Risk Control Manager

    Report to: Head of Business Risk - CIB

    Department: CIB Business Management

    Location: Jeddah

    Summary:

    The role holder is expected to monitor the maintenance of an effective operational risk and control environment via the execution of the Risk and Control Assessment (RCA) process, provide inputs for identification of Top & Emerging risks, plan and conduct Internal Control reviews to test adequacy of controls as part of the annual Control Testing Activities (CMA), monitoring RCA controls KPIs and ensure adherence to the Incident Management process to enable timely Reporting. The role holder would be required to provide co-ordination and expertise to CIB Business teams on all aspects of operational risks including audits and work closely with the other BRCM teams across SAB

    Responsibilities:

    • Ensure that CIB has a robust and compliant Business Risk Control Management capability within 'First Line of Defense' aligned to the SAB model.
    • Implement and maintain effective BRCM framework, which adds value to the CIB Business.
    • Undertake Thematic Reviews to provide assurance to the Business regarding an effective BRCM framework.
    • Drive and support a culture which acknowledges the requirement for effective management of operational risk and control to protect the Bank and CIB from potential operational loss (tangible and reputational losses).
    • Work effectively with ORR team.
    • Support CIB teams in adherence to both internal and external directives from 'Second Line of Defense' including but not limited to Compliance, Operational Risk, Information Security Risk, and Business Continuity functions.
    • Ensure that CIB team implements compliance policies and procedures
    • Assess and report on the adequacy of operational risk and control environment.
    • Provide timely and relevant presentation material for the Risk Management Committees, Management Committees and others as needed.
    • Ensure Regulatory Compliance (RC) & Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) risks are assessed in the RCA process of monitoring as an aspect of Operational Risk Management Framework (ORMF).
    • Develop key relationships with CIB teams including across functional areas ensuring a clear understanding of material Operational risk and control issues.
    • Support CIB Management on compliance and operational risk matters and represent CIB as point of contact for ORRC
    • Cultivate strict compliance and operational risk culture throughout the CIB Business.
    • Prepare and assist internal, external and regulatory audits.

    Requirements:

    • Good understanding of operational risk and controls, preferably gained through experience in front line and risk roles.
    • Sound knowledge of the CIB Business, including products, services, systems & processes.
    • Good understanding of the Operational Risk Frameworks.
    • Knowledge of the changing regulatory environment especially in the financial services sector.
    • Proven problem solving skills with ability to consider alternative and lateral solutions.
