- Assure that the Client's sustainability aspirations, goals, initiatives are achieved in a timely manner.
- Able to contribute innovative solutions and make valuable recommendations to the Team/Client.
- Overseeing direct client requests for assessments, delegating sub-tasks within the internal and external teams and quality controlling client deliverables.
- Building Client relationships and introducing other Sustainability Services when applicable.
- Lead, coordinate and facilitate project deliverables related Sustainability and Environmental (S&E) requirements.
- Acting as the Design and Construction Ratings and Certifications Subject Matter Expert for the program and the company.
- Acting as the first point of contact for all Design and Construction Ratings and Certifications enquiries.
- Is able to present and communicate effectively with the team and various stakeholders.
- Provide qualified technical sustainability and environmental support for Packages/Projects to enable achievement of sustainability and environmental goals and targets.
- Provide regular reports/summary of achievements within the organization, to the PMO and to the Client in an agreed frequency.
- Experienced in preparing Sustainability Management Plan and Overarching Environmental Management Plan and package/project specific Environmental Management Plans.
- Review and approve the management plans, monthly reports and monthly inspection reports submitted by Supervision Consultants and Contractors and ensure implementation.
- Ensure compliance on Environmental requirements of Authorities, support the environmental orderliness in accordance with international standards (ISO 14001 EMS and ISO 45001 HSE) and conduct bi-annual PMC audits.
- Engaging with certification bodies to affirm the route to Sustainability certification as requested by Client.
- Ensure that approvals, environmental permits, NOCs are updated and monitor the renewal requirements.
- Assist with all aspects of enquiries, registration and submissions to enable projects to obtain required approvals from certifying bodies' GBCI and National Housing Company, KSA.
- Manage the implementation of sitewide and building green rating systems, including the submission of documents or RFIs to the Client for approval.
- Monitor the design and construction phases of the assigned package/projects.
- Review deliverables prepared by consultants and contractors for accuracy and quality.
- Conduct environmental induction training to Consultants, Contractors, subcontractors and other stakeholders mobilised to the project.
- Conduct design and construction sustainability and environmental audits and site inspections and monitor implementation of corrective actions.
- Lead design workshops and construction phase meetings on a regular basis to monitor the designers, construction supervision and the contractor's implementation of S&E.
- Report to the Sustainability and Environmental teams of the Client.
- Graduate of any Engineering or Architecture field (or Sustainable Design).
- With 6-8 minimum years relevant work history in the design and construction industry, preferably 3-5 years in GCC countries.
- Experience in sustainability process from design to construction including coordination, report preparations, documentation submissions.
- Management experience in the sustainable design of major projects/program of similar nature.
- LEED accredited Professional (LEED AP) with proven track record working on LEED projects, Mostadam AP (preferrable), SITES AP or other sustainability certifications, ISO 14001 Environmental Management certification, PMP certified (preferrable)
- Be proactive and able to work on your own initiative.
- Fluency in English both verbal & written communication
- Relevant technical knowledge in Sustainability & Environment & experience.
- Experience with Sustainability Rating Systems' LEED, Estidama, Mostadam (preferrable).
- Familiarity with Health, Safety & Environment standards.
- Has strong leadership skills in managing multiple projects and teams.
- A team player and working independently on his/her own responsibilities.
- Proactive and passionate in sustainable and environmental solutions.
- Organize and has good time management able to manage various tasks.
- Excellent resource, planning, and time management skills.
- Comfortable working outdoors on site.
- Previous work for a Main Contractor is preferable.
- Previous experience working with a Supervision Consultant or PMC is advantageous.
