    To oversee internal legal affairs related to contracts' development and award, internal legal studies and advice

    1. Principal Accountabilities: (the 6-9 main areas of responsibility)

    Strategic Planning

    1. Develop Contracts Legal unit strategy in line with Investment department strategy to support in the achievement of department objectives
    2. Ensure implementation of Contracts Legal unit strategy and related strategic plans in order to achieve agreed upon strategic goals and objectives
    3. Develop, and update the Contracts Legal unit organization structure – with compliance to relevant policies- to ensure meeting different business needs and requirements

    Budgeting

    1. Prepare and recommend the Contracts Legal unit budget by conducting analysis and preparing data related to specific elements as directed
    2. Monitor the financial performance of Contracts Legal unit against Investment department so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified and rectified promptly and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalised upon

    Operations Management

    1. Lead the daily operations of Contracts Legal unit to ensure that work processes are implemented as designed and comply with established policies and procedures
    2. Ensure the execution and delivery of internal projects by planning, organizing, overseeing of various project activities to ensure meeting agreed project parameters (cost budget, timelines, scope and quality)

    Contracts Draft Support

    1. Oversee the development of contracts and agreements with external parties and ensure alignment with pre-set policies, guidelines and standard model forms
    2. Ensure integrity of legal content, manage the identification and mitigation of potential risks related to contracts execution and interfere when needed to solve arising infringements
    3. Participate in concerned committees when needed for contracts award and provide expert advice to solve disparities and reach common ground with external parties while preserving the Company's interests
    4. Supervise the development of Company legal policies, guidelines and standard model forms in the field of contracts and agreements

    Contract Implementation Follow-up

    1. Oversee the identification of potential risks arising from contracts execution, develop mitigating actions and follow-up on implementation
    2. Follow-up on contracts' implementation from a legal standpoint to ensure adherence to legal policies and guidelines and interfere to solve disparities when needed
    3. Assess and finalize all contract modification requests received from vendors or departments and intervene when needed to solve disputes between Company departments and vendors when needed

    People Management

    1. Direct the activities and work of subordinates and evaluate their performance by providing formal and informal feedback to ensure that all work within a specific area is carried out in an efficient manner and in accordance with set individual targets
    2. Stimulate subordinates and handle the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account 'international best practice', improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement

    Policies, Processes & Procedures

    1. Recommend improvements to Contracts Legal unit policies and direct the implementation of procedures and controls covering all areas of Contracts Legal activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective services
    2. Ensure compliance to all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the department in order to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance and a responsible environmental attitude
    3. Ensure the implementation of various information security practices and standards to ensure compliance with relevant policies and the protection of the Company's data and information

    15+ years of relevant experience in contracts legal, law or equivalent

    • 10+ years' experience of managing a similar function
