    Job Brief

    We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager of Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) to join our business. As the Manager of HSSE, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure the well-being of our employees, compliance with regulations, and the protection of the environment. You will lead a team of professionals and work closely with various departments to promote a culture of safety and sustainability throughout the organization.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop, update, and implement health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
    • Conduct risk assessments and identify potential hazards in the workplace.
    • Develop strategies to mitigate risks and prevent accidents.
    • Monitor and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to health, safety, and the environment.
    • Stay up to date with regulatory changes.
    • Develop and deliver training to educate employees on safety and environmental practices.
    • Ensure all employees are aware of and adhere to safety protocols.
    • Establish and manage incident reporting systems. Investigate accidents, injuries, or environmental incidents and develop corrective action plans to prevent their recurrence.
    • Develop and implement emergency response plans to address potential workplace emergencies, such as fires, chemical spills, or natural disasters.
    • Develop and implement environmental sustainability initiatives to reduce environmental impact, such as energy conservation, waste reduction, and emissions control.
    • Regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
    • Coordinate with external auditors or regulatory agencies as needed.
    • Manage the HSSE department's budget, including expenses related to safety equipment, training, and compliance measures.
    • Communicate HSSE objectives and progress to senior management and other stakeholders. Promote a culture of safety and environmental awareness throughout the organization.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related discipline
    • 15 years of working experience in health, safety, and environmental management, including leadership roles in related positions.
    • Prior industrial experience in metals processing or related industrial sector preferred.
    • Professional and national certification in the HSSE profession In-depth knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
