    The drama instructor has to plan, organize, and implement an appropriate
    drama instructional program in an upper elementary to secondary learning
    environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their
    drama potential; and is expected to work together with the school's
    educational leadership to lead, manage and develop the Drama department to
    ensure it achieves the highest possible standards of excellence in all its
    activities.

    * *Curriculum Development: *Designing and developing a comprehensive drama
    curriculum that aligns with the school's educational standards and
    caters to the needs and abilities of students at different levels.

    * *Lesson Planning: *Creating engaging lesson plans and instructional
    materials that are culturally suitable to facilitate effective teaching
    and learning experiences. Incorporating a variety of teaching methods,
    such as group activities, improvisation exercises, and performances, to
    foster creativity and skill development.

    * *Acting Instruction: *Teaching acting techniques, including character
    development, body movement, vocal projection, and emotional expression.
    Guiding students in developing their acting skills through exercises,
    improvisation, monologues, and scene work.

    * *Production and Direction: *Organizing and directing student performances
    and theatrical productions, such as plays, musicals, and showcases.
    Assisting students in selecting culturally appropriate scripts,
    coordinating rehearsals, overseeing stagecraft, and managing technical
    aspects of the production.

    * *Performance Evaluation:
    • Assessing students' progress and providing
    constructive feedback on their performances. Conducting individual and
    group evaluations to identify strengths and areas for improvement.
    Encouraging students to reflect on their work and develop strategies for
    growth.

    * *Classroom Management: *Establishing a positive learning environment where
    students feel safe to explore their creativity. Maintaining discipline and
    managing classroom behavior to ensure a productive and respectful
    atmosphere.

    * *Collaboration: *Collaborating with other faculty members, such as music
    teachers, ELA instructors, and visual arts educators, to create
    interdisciplinary projects and performances. Coordinating with
    administrators, parents, and community members to organize drama-related
    events and extracurricular activities.

    * *Professional Development: *Engaging in continuous professional
    development by attending workshops, conferences, and training sessions to
    stay updated with current trends and practices in drama education. Sharing
    knowledge and expertise with colleagues through team meetings,
    professional learning communities, or mentoring programs.

    * *Student Support: *Providing guidance and support to students who are
    interested in pursuing a career in theater or performing arts. Assisting
    students in preparing for auditions, college applications, or
    theater-related competitions.

    * *Safety and Compliance:
    • Ensuring a safe and secure environment during
    rehearsals, performances, and other drama-related activities. Adhering to
    school policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations.
