- Design and oversee the construction of MEP systems for new buildings or renovations, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical.
- Develop project proposals, feasibility studies, and cost estimates.
- Prepare contract documents and specifications.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Coordinate with other engineers, architects, and contractors to ensure smooth communication and efficient workflows.
- Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to create 2D and 3D models.
- Perform energy audits and develop energy conservation plans.
- Investigate mechanical failures or unexpected maintenance problems.
- Analyze data from tests and site observations to troubleshoot issues and inform future designs.
- Keep abreast of new technology and developments in the field.
- Attend conferences and continuing education courses to maintain professional licensure.
- Write reports detailing project findings and recommendations.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or plumbing engineering
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit
- Strong understanding of building codes and standards
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills
