    JOB PURPOSE

    Accountable for: Execution of strategic asset programs related to electrical infrastructure and support of projects. Provide professional engineering support for the maintenance and reliability of Electrical systems to ensure compliance with site standards and external regulatory requirements. Play a leading role to identify and ensure implementation of I&E improvements to reliability, maintainability, safety, increase rate & quality and reduce costs.

    Key accountabilities of the Senior Asset Improvement Engineer (E&I) is as follows:

  • Development and implementation of the Asset Management System (AMS) for Electrical assets.
  • Custodian for plant governance & compliance for Electrical statutory equipment, methods and processes.
  • Develop and manage medium-long term Electrical asset management plans to achieve business goals (SQLCT).
  • Develop, govern, and maintain systems/ processes & procedures related to Electrical systems of the plant.
  • Prepare and effectively administer budgets for Electrical systems' projects/programs and identify opportunities for costs reduction.
  • Development of life cycle cost analysis to determine the optimum whole of life asset strategy
  • Carry out electrical & quality audits. Completes obsolescence reviews to provide a systematic approach to the effective management of asset aging and asset life extension for Electrical equipment
  • Follow change management processes ( drawing updates) and support of the drawing office.
  • Lead, prepare and engage in risk assessments workshops, facilitate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of major plant Electrical systems' detractors.
  • Identify capital requirements, formulate business case and submit applications.
  • Provide technical leadership to drive and support for Electrical capital projects.
  • Participate in specific phases of engineering assignments and activities ensuring best practice methodology and related tools are utilized. Investigate, evaluate, and prepare cost estimates including capital and maintenance budgets, schedules, and related documentation for assigned projects.
  • Assist Project group to deliver capital projects design deliverables and ensure maintainability and asset integrity are embedded - assist in delivery of operational readiness requirements as part of project execution.
  • Project Management and execution of small-medium asset improvement and asset integrity programs and projects
  • Prepare and effectively administer budgets for small-medium projects/programs and identify opportunities to reduce costs.
  • Supports development of the long-term Reliability Strategy (to include for example: RCM and FMEA) with input from Maintenance
  • Seek to promote long term reliability improvements as well as ensuring the lowest lifecycle cost and ultimately the reliability of breakdown maintenance activities
  • Ensure recommendations for equipment upgrades/ improvements are based on life cycle cost analysis
  • Assist maintenance in the development of:
  • repair SOW for pressure vessels (or other statutory items)

    complex repair SOW, ITP, MDR

    complex inspection SOW's and associated result interpretation

    Minimum Qualification and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university (Mandatory)
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer with the Saudi Council of Engineers.
  • Asset Management certification (Added advantage)
  • Significant post graduate experience (12+ yrs) and in-depth knowledge in the following areas:
  • Experienced in HV/LV Switchgear MCC, HV Distribution, Transformer and Packaged equipment. Experienced in HV maintenance management systems.
  • Preparation of technical specifications, scope of works and associated capital project documentation.
  • Managing work scope packages within the project budget and schedule requirements.
  • High level of organization, time and project management skills with the proven ability to multitask and operate effectively in a high pressure environment.
  • A strong communicator with excellent stakeholder management abilities.

  • Application of Business Intelligence Platforms, ERP (SAP) as an advantage
  • Experience in Chemical Manufacturing or Operations Environment as an advantage

  • Knowledge of ISO 55000 Asset Management system as an advantage
