Arabic Computer Systems, a leading ICT company in Saudi Arabia, is seeking an IBM DB2 Specialist to join our team. As an IBM DB2 Specialist, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of IBM DB2 database systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement IBM DB2 databases based on business requirements
• Ensure the integrity, security, and availability of IBM DB2 database systems
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues in IBM DB2 databases
• Optimize and tune IBM DB2 database systems for maximum performance
• Perform regular database backups and disaster recovery planning
• Collaborate with developers and system administrators to ensure smooth integration and operation of IBM DB2 databases
• The ability to install database software (IBM Software 2Db).
• The ability to install fixes and defects (patches, Fixpack) database software without downtime to the databases.
• The ability to estimate the resource need for new servers and determine their types, size, and software needs.
• The ability to retrieve databases, as well as retrieve them for a specific time as needed.
  • The ability to adjust database settings in accordance with the environment and operating system.
• Analyzing database readings (SNAPSHOTS (database, bufferpool, tables, etc.) such as levels
• (The ability to analyze and rewrite procedural sentences using database tools (Advisor, Explain) and create a report on that.
• Data analysis and the ability to perform normalization.
• Knowledge of SQL replication tools, Q) data replication
• (Ability to plan and determine the need for resources and equipment at disaster recovery sites and strong knowledge regarding (Data replication, HADR and Pacemaker)
• Providing support at the operating system level.
• Writing programs and functions that facilitate the nature of work and automate routine procedures.
• Professional certificates are preferred

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• At least 15 years of experience as an IBM DB2 Specialist
• Expert knowledge of IBM DB2 database management
• Experience in database design, implementation, and maintenance
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of disaster recovery and backup strategies for IBM DB2 databases
• Ability to work in a team and collaborate effectively with other IT professionals
