    Job Purpose

    • HSE&S Audits conformance
    • HSE&S Training plans conformance
    • Planned Risk Assessments / Hazard Studies completed.
    • HSE Performance Management Reviews conducted with site Management Team (MT)
    • Revenue and capital budgets planes for HSE&S
    • Legal permits of manufacturing
    • Has to frequently interact with EMT members AkzoNobel Middle East EMEA and all other section heads worker staff and contractors.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Lead HSE target setting for the ANSAL in line with EMEA Region programs and plans.
    • Align ANSAL HSE policies with AkzoNobel HSE Policies and other corporate rules and regulations.
    • Cascade the information throughout the ANSAL about new / revised policies / directives/HSE Standards and ANSAL HSE policies.
    • Identify and prioritize the focused HSE improvement area across ANSAL and continuously drive improvements and alignment with the corporate guidelines such as SAQ behaviorbased safety and process safety management programs.
    • Act as the ANSAL communication link between the Regional HSE Functions SEEMEA and various Businesses/Functions within the ANSAL.
    • Build up the ANSAL HSE&S network and organize the functioning of the ANSAL HSE processes develop new HSE Procedures/review existing Procedures as per HSE&S Standards and Guidance Notes being issued time to time by AkzoNobel HSE&S Function AkzoNobel EMEA so that all functions are enabled to give full conformance to HSE Procedures as applicable to their activities. Keeping in view the diverse range of products processes distribution network and correspondingly varied needs of the Business the jobholder has the responsibility of making suitable recommendations to Management team members for affecting regular improvements in HS&E performance.
    • Drive focused HSE&S improvement in ANSAL as per guidance from EMEA Region HSE Function so that full conformance to AkzoNobel HSE Standards and above reference level performance in all sub elements of HSE&S SAQ is achieved.
    • Implement HSE&S related training coaching education for ANSAL.
    • Maintain regular contact with the external HSE auditors and with the internal HSE organization coordinate for Corporate / specialist and other 3rd party audits submit the reports from the external auditors to ANSAL Management Team with improvement areas identified and proposed way forward.

    Communications & Working Relationships:

    To provide functional direction as well as support to members of Management Team and other designated individuals holding HSE responsibility at all the levels of the organization. The HSE Managers job is of a highly specialized nature and the jobholder must innovate and work generally independently for the best part of his job. In order to cope with rapidly changing processes materials and equipment he has to keep himself updated on developments in the field of safety health and environment through all the available means available within AkzoNobel.

    Experience & Role Requirements

    • Minimum of 5 years experience in the chemical industry with a minimum of 03 years in HSE role in heavy chemical industry Projects or related sectors.
    • In order to succeed in this role candidates must bring a clear results orientation and a strong can do mentality.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills pragmatism and an energetic management style are indispensable.
