    Overview

    GovCIO is currently hiring for Lead I/O Cable Plant Technician. This position will be located in United Arab Emirates and Saudia Arabiaand will be an onsite position.

    Responsibilities

    Installs, operates, maintains, repairs and modifies equipment. Performs a variety of maintenance and technical support on products such as equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, and software at customer and/or field locations. Analyzes and evaluates products and related performance. Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctions to eliminate problem in minimum time. Installs, upgrades and removes products ensuring coordinative engineering field change. Maintains effective customer communications and relations. May provide onsite training of customer support personnel.

  • Assembles, installs and configures systems and equipment in accordance with site assessments and schematics.
  • Completes system programming and optimization as part of the installation process.
  • Performs routine system maintenance and analysis functions, including hardware configurations and adding, removing and replacing equipment components.
  • Provides on-site end-user training on system operation, maintenance and limited troubleshooting.
  • Travels frequently to customer sites and performs field technician service duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

  • High School with 6 - 9 years (or commensurate experience)
  • Clearance Required: Secret
  • Lead-level practical experience in: installation of ducts and conduits; pulling cables and terminating, testing, splicing, and repairing interior and outside copper, coaxial, and fiber optic cabling; installation of fiber optic modems, fiber multiplex equipment, fiber patch panels, analog and digital copper patch panels, main and intermediate distribution frames; installation of lightning protection and supporting ground and power connections; installation of cabinets, cable ladder and rack systems, and equipment components in the cabinets
  • Experience with the operation of heavy equipment such as: track excavator-changeable scoop/hydraulic jackhammer, standard backhoe, bobcat, cable reel truck and 20K all-terrain forklift
