Roles and Responsibilities:

• Architectural Leadership: Lead the development and evolution of our database architecture, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives while maintaining scalability, reliability, and efficiency.
• Data Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive data strategy encompassing data modeling, governance, and best practices.
• Technical Expertise: Serve as the foremost authority on database technologies and tools, offering guidance and recommendations for data storage, processing, and analytics.
• Database Integration: Oversee database integration efforts, guaranteeing seamless data flow across systems and platforms.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders, to comprehend requirements and deliver effective database solutions.
• Data Governance: Establish and enforce data governance policies, uphold data quality standards, and implement robust data security measures.
• Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging trends in database architecture and technology, identifying opportunities for innovation and enhancement.
• Mentorship: Provide mentorship and direction to junior members of the database team, nurturing their professional growth and development.

Skills requirements:

• Minimum of 10 years in database architecture and management roles.
• Extensive experience with leading database technologies and platforms.
• Strong proficiency in data modeling and database design.
• Expertise in data governance and security practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and effective communication abilities.
• Ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under pressure.
• Proven ability to swiftly adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
• Familiarity with scalable databases and data processing solutions like PostgreSQL, MSSQL, MongoDB, Kafka, Elasticsearch.
• Proficient in automation tools like Ansible, Terraform.
• English proficiency at a B2 level or higher.

Skills Nice to have:

• Certification in relevant database technologies or architecture.
• Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions.
• Experience with big data technologies and platforms.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Ruby.
• Strong knowledge of data warehousing and analytics.
• Knowledge of version control systems like Git and SVN.
• Proficiency in the Arabic language is highly preferred.
