Senior Mine Planning Engineer

Ma'aden Barrick Copper Company (MBCC) is seeking an experienced Senior Mine Planning Engineer to contribute to the success of the Jabal Sayid Mine.

This role plays a critical part in driving operational efficiency through short to long-term mine planning, while working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the safe and optimized extraction of ore.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage annual budgets, LOM plans, and rolling forecasts for underground mine operations.
• Oversee short and medium-term schedules aligned with production targets and geological data.
• Analyze production performance, identify deviations, and lead recovery planning.
• Support mining contractor coordination through design approvals, stope notes, and planning documentation.
• Ensure technical quality and statutory compliance in all mine planning activities.
• Contribute to the growth of a high-performing technical team through coaching and skills development.
• Engage in continuous improvement initiatives across mining methods, cost control, and safety.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering (or equivalent).
• 5–10 years of experience in underground hard rock mining, with a strong focus on planning.
• Mine budgeting and equipment cycle calculations.
• Planning for long-hole open stoping and cut & fill methods.
• Ventilation, paste fill, and reticulation systems.
• DESWIK mine planning software (or equivalent).
• Familiarity with reporting codes such as JORC, NI 43-101, and business planning processes.
• Strong understanding of geotechnical principles and backfill engineering.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and foster collaboration across departments.
• Fluent in English; Arabic is a plus.
