MODACAR is seeking an expertlevelauto upholsterer. You will have an opportunity to join a team ofcraftsmen of the highestlevel restoring customizing and buildingworldclass collectible automobiles at our stateoftheart facility inJeddah Saudi Arabia. Candidates must have a keen attention todetail and accuracy. Your skills must be topnotch and produceextremely highquality results. We need someone who takes directionand completes jobs with limitedsupervision.

Under the supervision of theProduction Manager the Auto Upholsterer is responsible for using anassortment of materials to make seats cover dashboard and doorstitching convertible tops steering wheel stitching and headlinercovering. The Auto Upholsterer will also be responsible forcovering wall panels and other parts of custom vans swing windowsills and window coverings.

Current AvailablePositions:

• AutoExperienced/Skilled Upholstery Technician Foam fabrication andcovering of auto seating and soft goods with highqualityleathers/materials.
• Total Vacancy:2
• Experience/knowledge of basic hand power andupholstery tools including industrial sewing machine nail guns hotknives skivers and hand tool skills.

RequiredSkills/Abilities:

• Ability to work withall types materials including leather vinyl cloth andcarpet
• Experience in a variety of stitchingstyles and threads and upholstery techniques to duplicate originaland custom seat patterns
• Having indepthknowledge of modern upholstery techniques
• Mustbe able to work on seats tops carpets dashboards doors headlinersand all other aspects of interiorrefinishing
• Experience with classic vehicles isa plus
• Ability to multitask this position is avery detailed oriented position
• Ability tovisualize design ideas
• Work well individuallyand as a member of a team
• Ability to stand sitand kneel for long period of time
• Ability tolift seats and other items

Qualifications:

• Theapplicant should be confident and have a total of 10 years ofexperience in the upholstery industry. Of these 10 years thecandidate must have 7 years of experience in auto upholstery(upholstery: 3 years & sewing: 4 years).
• Must be reliable and seeking a longterm careerwithin the company. (experience requirement could be reduced basedon Portfolio)
• Formal training or significantexperience in highend automobiles classic cars and automotiveinterior fabrication
• Must be able tocommunicate in English both written and spoken

Schedule:

• Workinghours: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Saturday throughThursday.
• Weekend:Friday

JobResponsibilities:

• Versatilityin working with a wide variety of premiumquality upholsterymaterials
• Creating patterns and templates
• Dismantling seats for upholsterypreparation
• Seat foam fabrication (build up andcontour foam)
• Handcrafted upholsterywork
• Headliner removal repair andinstallation
• Producing highqualitysteeringwheel cover stitching (Leather and Alcantara) usingmultiple stitching techniques
• Repairs stitchesand replaces convertible tops
• Measures newpadding and covering materials and cuts them to required dimensionsusing knife or shear
• Sews covering materialtogether using sewing machine
• Demonstratecomplex upholstery techniques (i.e. topstitch piping bindingdecorative stitch).
• Ensure sewing machines arein good working order
• Fits covering to seatframe and secures it with glue andtacks.
• Repairs or replaces upholstery inautomobiles buses and trucks: Removes old upholstery from seats anddoor panels of vehicles.
• Cut vinyl upholsteryfabric according to patterns to fit wood backboards in the assemblyof handcrafted equipment pads seatsetc.
• Stretching out and installing fabric orleather coverings.
• Determine departmentinventory and request needed material from the ProductionManager
• Conducting quality checks on completedorders.
• Foster a positive team environment anddemonstrate a continual willingness to learn and serve a teammember.
• Staying update with new trends andtechniques in automotive upholstery through watching videos being amember in autoupholstery communities and experimenting. Our culturepromotes continuous learning and mastery of methods. We aim toimprove our teams skills to deliver topnotch quality and stay aheadin the industry.
