Battered Humanity

Verily, we are all children of Adam and Eve.

Whereof then loathing and racist feelings?

Let’s shun brutal acts and truthfully behave

With rank manners and humane dealings.

What if we are divided into different communities?

But still, we are all labelled as a human race

In truth, humanity alone can bring in caring unities

And without this, we all live, but in disgrace.

What are the uses of racial discrimination?

What sense it makes when we claim superiority?

Nothing but it spumes discords and devastation

And increases sufferings with pangs of enmity.

We, humans vary in color, creed or language

But still, the hue of blood in our veins is red

We debase ourselves with fanatical rage

Bereft of goodness, our conscience is dead.

What if our complexion and bodily looks vary?

But, we are all composed of flesh and bones

Let’s not, from the verities of life, be so unwary

Let’s awaken our souls, senses and tones.

Let not racism, in the world, make an ugly face

It’s by virtues that a person stands in dignity

We turn brutal and mad in absence of grace

And, in the end, we witness battered humanity.

What a misery, from the racism, everywhere!

It stinks with thoughts of racial dominance

With betrayals and conflicts, there’s nothing fair

Except discrimination, disasters and ignorance.
