Who is eligible?

All health professionals involved in diabetes management and care are eligible to take the course. In particular, health professionals who work in isolated, remote settings and lack access to latest evidence-based education resources.


How does the course work?

To obtain your IDF Certificate of Completion and one European CME credit, you should work through the content in the following order:

  • You should start each section by clicking on the launch button. After completion of each section, the next section will be unlocked.
  • Module learning starts with 10 pre-test questions and ends with 10 post test questions, all of which are in multiple choice format.

Dr. Nuha Ali El Sayed is an expert endocrinologist in lifestyle medicine, diabetes prevention, general diabetes, diabetes technology and medical education and training.  Dr. El Sayed oversees Joslin Diabetes Center’s global/professional education, care advisory and clinical training programs.


Dr. Samar Hafida

Samar Hafida, MD is an adult endocrinologist at Joslin Diabetes in Boston, MA. Her special interests include weight management and the effect of metabolic surgery in the management of type 2 diabetes. In addition to her clinical work, Samar is passionate about medical education and delivery of diabetes care to health systems. She is assistant director of global education and is involved in several education initiatives geared to a wide variety of learners and provides consultation to health systems on reforming diabetes care and improving outcomes.
