What would you say about a manager who harbors refined character and is good to everyone, but uncaring towards his own assistant? It’s like a philanthropic person who’s known to the world for his generosity, but, in no way benefitting to his near neighbor.


What a fate of an employee who had worked, more than a decade for his boss, with unwavering enthusiasm and spirited sincerity. But, this poor chap received no recognition for his star performance nor pathway for career progression. Strangely, he wasn’t even bestowed with any worthwhile credential or enrolled for an apt training.


In what ways a company can have high employee engagement? Presumably, it comes when employees are appreciated for their duteous performance, conscious commitments and extra efforts. Rewarding employees is different thing, but when employees are recognized for their honest endeavors, then that’s itself is like a major achievement for them.


Verily, some companies count their competent and loyal workforce as their greatest assets. In simpler way, it means how companies care about them and realize their abilities, hard work, diligence and continued contributions.


In truth, organizational cultures are wide and varied in part because of the wide and varied cultures, background and experiences of their employees. Perhaps, in order to leverage the differences to develop an aligned and engaged high performing teams, you will need to adapt potential ways for influencing involvement with your team members.


Imagine a company that boasts about its mission, ideology and policies, but, in practicality, there’s nothing evident that can endorse its truthfulness. Such a company lacks a coherent corporate culture. What’s the use of any business jargon or idioms at a workplace or hanging frames, on the walls, with inspiring corporate clichés when a company’s atmosphere is all damaging, detached and dull? 

And, when a company runs its affairs with lack of proper control, hierarchy and evaluations, then employees fulfill their roles without any trust and commitments. In such atmosphere, employees remain insincere and unmindful to put in their endeavors, and they exhibit no loyalty and are least bothered to bring in dynamic, beneficial changes in work culture. For few employees, such a company’s environment is like an institution where they get a little more qualified by work experience, practical surroundings and external influences. And, when they find good opportunities elsewhere, with good pay and perks, they are willing to quit their jobs immediately. Whom to blame for the employee disengagement and lack of loyalty?


With the presence of honesty and harmony in the workplace culture, employees remain committed and hardworking. And, the one thing that binds team members and keeps them committed and happy is integrity because it inspires them for collective spirit and enthusiasm. So, any unfairness, from the upper strata, will resemble biased leadership and it will cause discontent and disengagement in employees.


Nevertheless, where there are traces of frankness and employee recognition from the management in workplaces, then that helps employees, out of sincerity and loyalty, to be highly engaged and work efficiently for greater productivity.


In some companies, when there’s lack of discipline and tactical focus, then employees tend to work in silos and prefer to remain aloof with their ‘bandwagon mentality’. In such cases, simple elements like diversity among employees, positive integrity, proper communication and interactive support of every single individual are important for ‘workplace wellness’. Without these elements, there will be a chaotic culture, no consistency in communication, lopsided performance, ignored innovation and failing company atmosphere.


To sum up, when you take care of employees, then it means you are making them happy. And engaged employees are more conscious, more efficient, and they are means to good productivity, profits and growth.
