Purchasing Officer Job Description
We are a System Integrator company-ICT
We are looking for an astute Procurement Officer to oversee purchasing activities and ensure that purchased items are both cost-efficient and of high quality.
Purchasing Officer Responsibilities:
- Experience in dealing with international suppliers.
- Following up with suppliers and shipments and ensuring proper shipment till destinations.
- Preparing plans for the purchase of items.
- Preparing company's procurement policies and procedures.
- Reviewing, comparing, analyzing, and approving products to be purchased.
- Managing inventories and maintaining accurate purchase and pricing records.
- Maintaining and updating supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, product ranges, etc.
- Maintaining good supplier relations and negotiating contracts.
- Researching and evaluating prospective suppliers.
- Preparing budgets, cost analyses, and reports.
- Identify and introduce new materials, supply chain capabilities, technologies, and processes to meet current and future interests of products.
- Inventory control: oversees the inventory of goods and places orders when supplies run low.
- Minimize supply chain disruption and execute projects on time, and to budget.
- Work crossfunctionally with the Design, Project Management, Sales, Marketing and eCommerce teams to drive product improvements, development.
- Develop and oversee processes for product management.
- Regularly report on progress and results to senior management.
- Develop and implement technology, procedures and processes that will allow the business to scale.
- Establishing professional relationships with clients as well as vendors and suppliers.
- Ensuring all stock is packaged appropriately and delivered to the correct location in a timely manner.
Purchasing Officer Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, or a related field may be required.
- Previous experience in a similar position.
- Proficiency in the relevant management software programs.
- Superb written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.
- Great organizational and planning skills.
- The ability to identify market trends and make decisions in a highstress environment.
- The ability to follow client specifications.
- Excellent networking and time management skills.
- Degree in accounting, business management or a similar field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in same business as a procurement officer or in a similar position.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing software.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Good analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- Supervisory and management experience.
- Attention to detail.
