General Overview:


Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead the establishment and execution of the Department's annual plan, budget, objectives and initiatives in line with the Company's strategic objectives and set KPIs.
  • Direct the Department's operations and activities within budget and devise strategies that result in a positive financial impact.
  • Lead the development of Life strategy while ensuring alignment with business objectives and cascaded plans and targets received from Planning and Quality.
  • Lead crossfunctional collaboration with Product Management to ensure alignment of all specificities of existing and new Life products.
  • Engage in Life product management lifecycle to provide input related to claims history and forecasts, and provide recommendations on potential improvements while leveraging current issues and challenges, best practices, and local legislations and regulations.
  • Ensure alignment of Life and Sales functions on all processes, requirements, and objectives.
  • Endorse recommendations related to improvements on pricing guidelines while ensuring compliance with risk targets and market trends, and lead workshops with Actuarial to align on key principles.
  • Oversee Life Underwriting manuals, recommend improvements/modifications and ensure compliance with pricing guidelines and regulations.
  • Ensure all needed actuary models and algorithms are in place to calculate risks and enable premium price calculation, and recommend improvements in line with previous expertise and best practices.
  • Oversee Life portfolio to ensure all contracts are compliant with risk targets on an aggregate level.
  • Oversee collaboration with sales channels (i.e., Sales teams and brokers) to ensure all quotations are generated in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all life insurance policies reflecting protections and are compliant with internal policies as well as external regulations.
  • Direct improvements pertaining to the overall Underwriting procedures to improve efficiency of operations and accuracy of deliverables.
  • Endorse Life claims management policies, guidelines, and processes, and ensure compliance with national laws and regulations as well as international standards.
  • Ensure all claims are handled in a timely and proper manner in line with preset policies and guidelines.
  • Ensure fraud management guidelines and controls are integrated in operational systems to detect and mitigate all fraudulent activities.
  • Intervene when needed in critical/escalated cases to engage with customers and clarify claims decisions.
  • Lead collaboration with Finance to ensure prompt reimbursement for beneficiaries.
  • Ensure policy administration requests are handled in a timely manner and in line with policy administration guidelines and delegation of authority.
  • Oversee performance assessment reports and direct action plans on highlighted shortfalls and areas for improvement.
  • Direct the development of the Department's policies, processes and procedures to increase productivity, attain high quality outputs, and costeffective results in line with relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the development, enhancement and implementation of control systems, and the resolution of escalated noncompliance cases.
  • Direct the Department's talent acquisition, development and management activities within the Department.
  • Lead setting team members' objectives, clarifying expectations, reviewing performance periodically, providing regular feedback, coaching, and confronting unsatisfactory behavior or performance.
  • Promote a highperformance and accountability working environment.

Requirements:


  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or equivalent is required.
  • A Master's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or equivalent is preferred.
  • Minimum 11 years of experience in the field of life insurance with at least 6 years of experience in a managerial position.
